@axiomhq @OmarchyLinux I always use slack in a tab, this walks back and grabs the best image it can for the source of the notification, including grabbing apple touch or android touch icons from the root domain

works great, i stopped using the slack desktop app years ago - too buggy and ate too much ram. I pin the tab on my work chrome and switch on notifications. Huddles etc work perfectly fine (though we don't use them much), everything else works exactly how you'd expect it. I think if you really need to be wired to Slack it's not the best setup, but otherwise i find it so much better than the app.
