A group of Russian artillerymen have been reassigned to infantry because they ran out of ammunition. They fled the battlefield because they were being sent to assault without proper training. Anti-retreat units are behind them, they say. As many others before them, they lay their woes in front of the mighty tsar (or maybe some local tsars). We always hear about women being “trapped by a man,” but why don’t we ever hear about all the women who are “career trapped.” They do what they’re told, take out the college loans, only to realize later that they want to be home with their kids… but they can’t be because it’s too expensive & they have to pay back their debt. Would a system that really cared about women set them up to fail this way? Why aren’t young girls taught how they can make money from home? I say it’s intentional.
