When John Ricchio (Producer on GTA 5 & RDR1) would interview devs to work at Rockstar he would warn people that " Rockstar is run by crazy people but you get to work on the best games in the world, that is the exchange." At least devs knew what...

The main reason why Rockstar doesn't release their games Day 1 on PC is due to lack of resources. As John Ricchio, GTA 5's producer puts it "if you are working on that that means you aren't working on something else." During the development of RDR1 they actually had a PC build running early on.

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 GTA 5 producer John Ricchio has said GTA 6 will skip PC at launch due to 'development priorities.' "PC release is not a switch that you just flip, it requires separate development, testing and optimization entirely." "You can't work on something else while working on that, hence consoles are prioritized."

The reason why Rockstar games are so good is because Rockstar iterates over and over with no end in sight. The downside of this is that devs end up working late for what feels like forever because there is no cut off point. I am guessing everybody working on GTA 6 will be iterating on the game right up until the day it drops.

Peter Thiel on the question he asks every startup founder he invests in “Why will the 20th talented person join your company when they can get paid way more at Google, they will have to work way less hard at Google, and it will look better on their resume to go to Google?” The 20th employee won’t get the equity or prestige that someone on the founding team will get, so there needs to be another incentive if you’re going to build a truly great company and attract the best people in the world. Thiel believes the best answer is something along the lines of: “This is the only place in the world where you can work on this incredibly important problem.” He continues: “It has to—on some dimension—be a really important problem that at least some people think is the most important problem in the world. Those are the kind of businesses that are unique, and when they work, they end up being leaders in their respective markets.” If it’s a problem that a bunch of other team are working on, it will be hard to attract a truly world-class employee #20.

Kevin Garnett says he is open to working out with Victor Wembanyama in the summer: “One thing I want to speak on is Wemby’s development. If I’m him, I’m working on core strength.. I’m probably one of the strongest people you could ever run up on, and I look how I look, but when it came down to setting up on that block and then pitching and getting it off down there, yeah, I was the best at that. So I would love to work with big fella, but this generation has a preference on how they want to work out and I have to respect that.” #GoSpursGo #PorVida

I'm always blown away by the fact that Rockstar Games casually made some of the best and most realistic water physics in 2008. GTA IV is the prime example of Rockstar Games focusing heavily on bringing realistic physics in a video-game. Everything from how a car handles, NPC ragdoll and water simulation in Grand Theft Auto IV was way ahead of its time and it even beats most of AAA games that we've seen these past few years when it comes to those game mechanics. Imagine how much ahead GTA 6 is going to be now that Rockstar Games has much more processing power to work with on current gen consoles

Did you know that people have less freedom today, and have to work more than they did during the feudal age? They at least knew they were slaves. We only have the illusion that we are free; but are in fact more enslaved than they were 👇🏻

The mechanical braking when going from Hurry to Standard on the highway is crazy... There's no human in earth that would drive like this. It's 'seatbelt into the chest braking. Tesla AI - so much work on speed I don't even know where you would start at this point.

John Ricchio (an ex-Rockstar producer who worked on RDR1, Max Payne 3 and GTA 5) has spoken about his experience working with Sam and Dan Houser on Reece “Kiwi Talkz” Reilly’s podcast. He offers some VERY interesting insight into the both of them. The biggest takeaway for me is that seems as if Sam Houser really, REALLY cares about the quality of their games. This shouldn’t really be a surprise, but it’s awesome to hear just how passionate he truly is about them. He lists Rockstar’s Table Tennis as an example of this. Apparently that game was “his baby” and is largely why it turned out so good. THIS is why GTA 6 has taken so long. It’s been said over and over again, but Rockstar really does seek perfection, and it’s really cool to hear that Sam Houser’s passion for gaming is a big part of why that’s the case.

Charlie Villanueva says LeBron played a huge part in Bronny getting drafted to the Lakers: “Did yall watch the draft? The Lakers already knew what they were going to do. There were already cameras in the house with Bronny. They were already ready for this. That means he knew in advance. If he didn’t get drafted by the Lakers he doesn’t get drafted at all. What team is interested in a kid that averaged 4 points per game, on 36% shooting. On 26% shooting from 3, On 66% shooting from free throw. It’s a thousand people that do that in college. A walk on at UConn did that.” -Charlie Villanueva To The Baha

Billionaire threatens workers with endless surveillance: "We're gonna put a camera up your ass" ----- Is it that people don't want to work, or is it that they are opposed to being put under constant surveillance? Does he have a camera on him? Would he quit if he did? The people that quit sent a message that this is not acceptable to them. What would you do?

When RDR1 was near the finish line the bulk of the development team got some reprieve and could celebrate, that wasn't the case for the multiplayer team. Kris created a chart with realistic deliverables based on current resources, while still allowing some of the multiplayer team to have some downtime, Rockstar NY were like "no" and provided a counter chart with dates they needed to hit and they had deliverables from the past. lol RDR1 in a lot of ways is a miracle game, given the clusterfuck that production was. I am not surprised so many people left after RDR1 released.
