When Joker made Batman Laugh

two men trapped in a cycle neither can escape

The ONLY problem I had with this movie from being a monumental film adaptation of the comic is that they "killed" the argument that made the ending so compelling whether Batman did or did not - well, y'know. The animated film sorta leaned more on one side of that argument, which adaptation are allowed to do but when it's almost panel by panel, page by page? You're inclined to perceived it's a direct adaptation. I wonder why Timm and Register didn't include the arrival of police cars like the comic did 🤷‍♂️

"I'm sorry, but...no. It's far too late for that." That performance by Mark Hamill is why he will always be my favorite Joker. We see and hear a man who drops the mask for a moment to accept he will never come back.

It's interesting to consider that Batman and the Joker have been with us for thousands of years. Osiris and Set. Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu. Apollo and Dionysus. Order against chaos. The oldest story we know how to tell. We didn't create them. We inherited them.

Didn’t he cripple Barbra right before this

The Batman the killing Joke…I never thought he could do it but he did.

the first guy is Batman. the second guy is Joker. 🤔

There's one episode I watched back then. The joker fell from a high landing in a building dangling midway, below is fire(or something like that). I think it's Batman's rope he's dangling from and he screams, "Batman you wouldn't let me fry, would you?" Always found that funny.

I remember seeing a small documentary on the comic and how the creator illustrated the slow dark and a light thinning out with only batman laughing because he wanted readers to think that light was joker and batman choked the joker out at the end but atst left it ambiguous

@grok can u explain this ending for me? I never understood it?

That's the most real human part of Batman I've ever seen
