When Kamala Harris was the D.A. of San Francisco she created a program called "Back on Track" to allow 1st time offenders to avoid jail time & expunge their records Critics called her program "Back on CRACK" and said she's supposed to be locking people up, not letting them out

@KamalaHarris Yep. I lived in the Bay Area back then and I remember that. She was fantastic. Her critics were wrong then and now.

@KamalaHarris Kamala was my DA, and I think she was a compassionate professional with an eye towards the big picture instead of performative prosecutions.

@KamalaHarris Our Obama appointed USA did a similar program here and even the (w) people in the office labeled it as "Hug a Thug". It's shameful. SMH

@KamalaHarris I remember Jessica Aguirre!!!! Some of us from the Yay Area love being reminded of why we voted for Kamala Harris for CA's AG. I was East Bay, but sure some of my SF tweeps even voted for her for SF DA. We saw a POTUS even then.
