Pep called Nico G “Mini-Rodri” and then went and froze him out, gave him poverty minutes at the Club World Cup until Lijnders and co had to tell him to play the lad. He plays him, and Nico holds our midfield together while Rodri is injured. Goes to the Bernabéu anchors the midfield and we take three points there. But I don't think he gives us enough of what this midfield is missing. Camara can defend, but he can also carry the ball, distribute and create. That balance matters. Put him alongside Caicedo and suddenly we have physicality, defensive security AND creativity instead of two midfielders doing similar things. And if Enzo stays, Camara could complement him too.
