Zubeen Garg’s last interview by renowned writer Rita Chowdhury. At 02:00 AM last night, I tuned in my soul that searched for answers. Outside my home, I heard a group of boys sing Zubeen’s songs. Their voice shattered. Why will it not? Zubeen loved the sea. He loved swimming. He never knew about its depth. And like that, we lost him to the depths of sea. Government should not underestimate the sentiments of the people. I hope, for a few people, they will not lose crores of them. Assam deserves to know what happened to Zubeen. Culprits who neglected him, deserve punishment.

Then I calmed myself down a little bit and checked if he was breathing. I saw his body breathing, so I was like, ‘OK, he’s not dead for sure.’ That made me feel a little more peaceful, but I was still sitting there praying. I just did a quick prayer and hoped that he woke up and went back to his family. In the fifth, I put the pace back on, and I think his body could have just shut down from tiredness...
