When men shut down, theres no coming back. Our heart doesn't break, it shatters. You just don't ever get to see it.

I love that video of that man reflecting over the wire, it’s always hit home and the majority of men will understand the feeling inside him. Women will never understand that about us…

His heart did not shatter. In a rare emotional moment his guard dropped and he forgot she's a vile narcissist that only really cares about herself. So, he made the mistake of sharing. He was angry with himself after she proved it again. The 2nd guy explains it. Men have two options when stuck in that situation. 1. Take responsibility for the huge mistake of marrying her and keep your promise to GOD by not divorcing her, but never giving her more ammo to use on you again. 2. Be just like her and divorce/cheat/mistreat her. Her goal is to try to get him to be evil in return. So, she can play victim when it's over.

I felt this in my soul. "This is why I stay quiet and don't say anything" were words I just recently said to my wife, as I walked away from her hurtful words. Men are tough. But the ones we love can wound us deeply.

the wire was a metaphor for the memories, heartbreak, stupid fights, drunken nights, blissful successes, utter failures, for nearly 4 decades of this man’s life and the lady is talking about a jet’s hat

I don’t understand how anyone watches this man articulate his confrontation with his own mortality and the passage of time and doesn’t break a little, the beginning of this makes me weep every time

The 'share your vulnerability' narrative is a false map. It’s a trap where honesty is met with contempt instead of empathy. She says she wants to hear it all, but her attraction relies on your frame staying intact. Don't buy the lie. Process the struggle in silence, bring her only the vision and the wins, and keep your heart’s shattering to yourself. This is men's burden, and also the origin of men's strength and power.

It's True. When men say "We're Done" it means it was over long ago.

A woman could never understand this

That poor man. Reflecting on how much life he has left. Then the realization of who he likely has to spend it with. The woman who only cares that he’s not getting his work done. I feel for him. That’s rough.

His wife was a B to him. She doesn't see that wire meant something to him. It's not the wire, it's what it represents. She is a B.

No, the heart shattering is quite noticeable, if one cares, if one has love in their heart, if one is human. Then again, expecting depth from women is like expecting honesty from a lawyer, or an English speaking Doctor in the USA.

When men shut down, it isn’t sudden. It’s after they’ve tried to explain themselves in a thousand small, quiet ways and realised none of it was landing. They don’t raise their voice or make a scene — they just grow tired of reaching. What breaks them isn’t the loss itself, but the understanding that their pain was invisible to the person they loved. And once that understanding settles in, something inside goes silent forever, and they carry on not healed, just emptied.

Powerful video. I truly understand that spool of wire. Thankfully, I can honestly say that my wife would NOT respond like the woman in the video. I'm very thankful for that.

This interaction with the wire always hits me, because I experienced similar struggles at the end of my marriage. Everything I had opened up about in the past, was then used as ammunition against me, so I internalized everything, and became a shell of myself.

The spool of wire is his metaphor for time. But men don't have emotions... her response is totally lacking empathy, even after he tells her why he's getting tearful.

How does the ĥoę not realize that the man was having a crisis that 40 years of his life just flashed before his eyes. A bro would have handed him a drink, or sat across or next to him and sympathized.. I'm 34 and I get what he's saying

I’ve seen those moments and been blessed enough to know it’s to be treated with respect and understanding. I’m honored and feel loved by the strong men in my life, but in turn they know I’ve got their back when the weight on their shoulders overwhelms. Just listen and support❤️

yes, it's devastating how the soul of mankind is being slaughtered... Women truly need 2B more aware of others, not just themselves & their own wants, needs, notions, preferences, demands etc... shoot, if they could just learn to shut up & LISTEN, that would help a ton
