He was responsible for more athletes than he coaches today, learned how to command a room early, and already knew how to manage a large staff. At Clemson, I got an inside look at the famous “100 Yards of Wellness.” It’s one of the most impressive recovery spaces in college football, featuring everything from waterbeds and massage chairs to red light therapy, all overlooking the practice field. I knew every street, every road, every restaurant. That was comforting. It took me getting uncomfortable, going to Miami and experiencing something new, to tap into something I didn’t even know I had.
