After four years apart, the exhilarating mixture of your insatiable energy aligned with beautiful weather made this year's Sonic Temple one for the ages. Columbus holds such a special place in our hearts, as it is where it all started for DWP with the launch of Rock On The Range in 2007. To see you all embracing Sonic Temple in just its second year deeply shows why this city is truly home for us. A heartfelt thank you to all of the fans, artists, staff, sponsors, partners, city, county, and state employees, and the DWP extended family. Without you, none of this would be possible. Special thanks to the Columbus Police and Fire, as well as the Ohio State Patrol, for their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of festivalgoers. We would also like to thank the employees of the Historic Crew Stadium, hotels, shops, and restaurants who welcomed our fans and provided them with an enjoyable experience during their stay in Columbus. DWP's commitment extends beyond just the event itself, as we also stress giving back to this great city. This year, Sonic Temple attendees have infused more than $40 million dollars into the local economy, including DWP's direct spend of nearly $4M on locally our hired staff, restaurants, hotels, and businesses. One of our favorite things about producing festivals is the positive impact we are able to make on the lives of individuals within our host community. We were proud to partner with Nationwide Children's Hospital and feature the On Our Sleeves Movement for Children's Mental Health as the official 2023 Sonic Temple charity. In summer, I always think of Songkran. ❓: A memorable moment in the past half year. ☀️: I actually travelled to many countries, met so many people, met fans in many countries, and met many talented people from various industries in every trip. I felt that it made me more open-minded, broadened my perspective, and allowed me to see the differences among them (different regions/cultures). ❓: For 'Holiday Summer', how would you like to spend your rest (relaxing/chill) time? ☀️: For me, during my rest time, I prefer to stay home. Esp. during summer, when the weather is so hot, staying home, turning on a cool A/C, having tasty food, and listening to music... ❓: Ways to rest or relax. ☀️: I think staying home. Turn off your phone; no need to pick up the phone; no need to be aware of anything in the outside world lol, and just spend time with yourself. ❓: The 1st thing you will do after taking a break from the online world. ☀️: Turn off the phone. It's one thing that I often do. Lately, I haven't known much about which way the world is heading or what is happening. Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a Toy Story kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond. Thank you to the brilliant Andrew Stanton for imagining me for this, all those years ago when you wrote this newest film. Thank you to the incomparable Randy Newman or the gorgeous sonic tapestry of songs and scores you’ve meticulously woven over the years. You created the Toy Story musical world, and we are lucky to get to live in it. By we, I mean myself and my pal jackantonoff. After many long hours of trying to reassure my daughter, Rafif, that the medicine in her mother’s hand is there to help her recover and come back to us healthy, I’m grateful to say that she finally understood. The sweetest moment was when Rafif started kissing her mother’s hand, as if she were praying for her to get well soon. These may seem like small gestures, but for a little girl carrying so much fear and love in her heart, they mean everything. Rafif wanted to be part of this video herself. Again and again, she tried to hold the phone in her tiny hands, eager to help record this special moment. What made her even happier was the arrival of her aunt and her cousins, who came to spend a few days with us. Then I realized that it wouldn’t wash off, because I had already tried wiping it off, and the paint just wouldn’t come off! The concert ended around 11:00 PM, and I went to sleep around 2:30 AM. This was the first time in my life I truly understood the meaning of a “thorough deep-clean shower”—Gemini’s concert made me learn this word! Thank you, Khun Gemini, for making me shower, wash my face, smell good, and go to sleep feeling super clean for once this year. Thank you so much, Khun Gemini. ☀️:I also apologized to all of my fans because, during the event, I had to walk super fast and just go like this *walks fast and waves*—real quick! Before going on stage for the event, while I was backstage, I got a call saying, “After this, let’s go do the skit with Gemini!” I was like, “I like this!” I really love stuff like this. I like things that don’t require much preparation, where you just go for it, because it’s fun! It’s so much fun! While driving to the venue, I listened to the skits from the previous days to see what they had done before. I did my homework! So, by the time I arrived, I fully understood the skit.
