In light of the tragedies and unraveling happening in the world, and knowing that algorithms reward anger, rage, and fighting, I pray people can see through the bullsh*t. To see our commonalities over our differences. If you spew hate and bitterness over others, you create a hateful and bitter world for yourself, and you suffer. Often women out of their own insecurities, pull other women down through senseless vicious gossip or judgement. As a community we suffer & don’t move forward when we do this. It takes kind women to lift, support, celebrate & empower other women. When this happens it creates a bond that can create magic…magic in the form of laughter, love, vulnerability, support system for each other & priceless memories for life. When women come together like this they can move mountains .. for each other & for the world .. Disturbing story on the murder of Rose Muthoni by her husband. They were living together in Juja, Kiambu County. The husband stabbed her, and according to the results, it was 19 times, with one stab going through her heart. He also stabbed the nanny when she tried to save the child, but both the child and the nanny are safe. The man then attempted to take his own life by jumping off the balcony, possibly breaking a leg and there were claims that he had also stabbed himself and is currently at Thika Level V Hospital under protective watch. The other difficult part is that Rose’s mother lost her husband just two months ago, and now Rose is gone too. Rose was living in Juja, but her family home is in Kayole. The child is 4 years old.

It hasn't been a day yet since I gave a briefing at the United Nations Security Council on detainees and the way forward in #Yemen, and already overwhelmed by the pouring of kind messages and calls of support. The world is a much better place when we remember our humanity and stand by each other. We can break the cycle of violence, end impunity, and rebuild through inclusive and rights based approach to dialogue. From bottom of my heart, thank you all.
