THE8’s casting story 🥹 🐸after three months at the beijing school, i got cast by pledis. they just saw me dancing the way i normally do and picked me. my voice was going through puberty then so i said i didn’t want to sing. so they didn’t record my singing just my dancing, and i forgot about it for a week. then they suddenly called and said i made it. the ceo wanted to meet me in beijing 🐻‍❄️the ceo came all the way to your school to see you? 🐸yeah. we met there and everything went well. then they asked me to come to korea. so i talked to my parents. my dad was against it, and my mom as well, but she said if i wanted it, i should do it 🐻‍❄️did you want to? 🐸at the time, that school had all the best dancers from across china. but even watching them, i felt like they still couldn’t make a lot of money. even though they were the best in china, the were genuinely living the life they wanted. but i just wanted to make my parents happy. my family was just an ordinary family. i figured even if things didn’t work out in korea, i’d still have studied abroad. and if i came back, my value would go up. that was my mindset going in. just in case

And I wonder if you see that as well, that interplay. 🐥: When I was working on those songs with my producers, we did make them thinking they would be great songs for me to dance to. Especially with "Be Mine," we even made a dance that I wanted to share with fans, but since I had to go to the military, it was a rough time.
