When people say that the sequels aren't on par with what's come before, I strongly disagree because tbh moments like this absolutely give me the same level of chills I get when watching the first two trilogies too. "It's the Resistance..." ✨

8 and 9 arent, 7 was actually an enjoyable movie and I dont enjoy the sequels. If these characters had a clear and drawn out story from the beginning instead of the story never actually having a real plan behind it, Im sure I wouldve loved it

My biggest gripe with this one is we jump 30 years ahead and the galaxy seems to be exactly the same.

There are good moments, but they’re surrounded by a story that doesn’t make a lot of sense and doesn’t have good beats. The writing is all over the place yeah there are good moments. Every piece of shit might have some corn in it, but I’m not gonna go looking for it.

TFA was decent. Nothing original but at least enjoyable and an okay intro to the main characters. Everything afterwards was garbage

The visuals are stunning. JJ Abrams is a talented cinematographer and director. He is absolutely in incompetent storyteller and writer. Exhibit A is after Han dies as the hands of his own son. Chewie lands back at the base of the Resistance. Princess/General Leia consoles and hugs Rey, someone she barely knows instead of Chewie who she’s known since he helped rescue her from the first Death Star. The sequels are an affront to Star Wars, relatable human stories and good movie making. Kathleen Kennedy should have been fired for incompetence and destroying the brand years ago. Full stop.

John Williams COOKED LIKE A MF with March of the Resistance

This is so kitschy and horrible, the stormtroopers talk like a 3 year old thinks the military does, everything is overly cheesy

I liked 7 (though derivative) until 8 (though beautiful) came along and decided to stomp on the plot threads 7 started. 9 was scrambling to catch up after 8 left it with nothing and it felt too frantic. 9 is only thing I've ever paused because of overstimulation.

Then they proceeded to tear down both Finn and Poe for the rest of the trilogy so Rey Palpatine could be the better than both of them.

Fantastic musical intro, and an amazing introduction to the Resistance as well. Heroes carrying on the torch of the old Rebellion, and stunning pilots and fighters in their own amazing right.
