When people try to make “Jamaican” synonymous with “Black” (like the Kamala supporters try to do) show them this

As a Jamaican I can confirm what my friend said (the Chinese lady and yes she is my actual friend, a gifted film director). It is incorrect to say most Jamaicans are black as 85% of the country is actually mixed race and consider themselves as such. I have two white grand parents on either side and one Indian. To represent myself as black would be doing a disservice to my other ancestors. That being said race is mostly an American cultural issue. I never really thought much about skin color until I moved here. It's hard to identify with the American racial experience since Brown vs Education was only 70 years ago and slavery was abolished about 200 years ago in Jamaica and aside from a few fringe groups, we hardly even talk about it. We never had a history of segregation either. I am empathic where the FBA is concerned though.

They hide under terms like Jamaican (*nationality) & Black (*byword moniker) so they can run under our (*FBA ADOS) umbrella when it’s convenient, then slip out when it’s loss taking time

The line’s been drawn. The FBA family does not code-switch like these other people. We never gave up on our people & that’s why they wanna tack themselves onto us

Yes, but he was also identified as "Afro Jamaican" which is the important distinction that you refuse to acknowledge. You moved the goal post so many times.

I have been to Jamaica. I always thought Jamincan people were always black until I meant an Asian man who I assume was a tourist like me started talking to me in Patwa. Right there I knew a Jamincan can be anyone other than black.

This is like finding 1 white guy in the hood and calling it a suburb.

Jamaican has never meant Black. Jamaicans of African decent aren’t even called Black they’re Afro ( African ) Jamaican. Black only truly applies to Black Americans ( FBA )
