TENNIS FOR TWO When Physicists get really bored... “Tennis for Two” has been considered one of the first video games ever! Physicist William Higinbotham developed the game and displayed it publicly in 1958. He used the DM30 which was an analog computer and the “game” was displayed on an oscilloscope (played with 2 custom aluminum controllers). Players adjusted the angle of shots with a knob & tried to hit the ball over the net by pressing a button. The “console” could actually simulate trajectories with wind resistance!
