Many Women may have felt like they settled bc they compare the man they married in their 30s to the guys they dated in their 20s. Yes, you nearly married that hot rich smart guy in your early 20s, but no way he looks twice at you when you are both in your 40s. Between those two ages, women experience a slow, uneven and unfair loss of power on the romantic marketplace. So yes, women may have felt like they settled before dating apps, but admitting the truth, that older women are generally less attractive than they were when they were younger, is a harder pill to swallow.

Sex differences in height, BMI, obesity, and blood pressure are larger in wealthier countries with more egalitarian sex-role socialization. Across societies, men tend to be taller and heavier and to have higher blood pressure than women—but these differences are especially large in wealthier nations. In materially scarce environments, men’s physical development is more constrained relative to women’s. Put simply, men have greater physical capacity for growth and change, and material abundance—particularly adequate food and nutrition—allows those underlying traits to emerge more fully.

Why don’t average looking women want to be with average looking men? Or is it the case that women overestimate their own and other women’s attractiveness and underestimate men’s attractiveness? Put in other words, women are very generous when assessing their own, and women’s attractiveness, but are very harsh when assessing men’s attractiveness.

Language in our NHS is important - women and girls menstruate and BREASTfeed. Men don’t. Women & men need separate hospital wards, toilets and changing rooms - for safety and dignity. Enough is enough. Our Welsh NHS needs to fall in line with the Supreme Court ruling that “sex” means “biological sex”. The rest of the UK starting to fall in line with the law..
