Stormwind was the first city we ever built. Our lead programmer had it load and play the song "We built this city" to our surprise when we first loaded in. The first version of Stormwind had no districts or canals. The framerate was below terrible. Then I thought of Venice. I grabbed a map of the city and slapped it down on the table the next morning. THIS, I said, is how we'll partition the city, drawing only the district you can see, separated by canals. It worked, and Stormwind was born.

Back where it all started 🧡 16 years ago as a freshman at FLORIDA, I walked into the @ESPNGainesville studios and asked if there were any jobs on the radio. Steve Russell (in the first pic) was kind enough to give me a shot. Today I got to sit next to him again to do what we did so many times while I was in college: talk ball. Years full of hard work, failure, a little success, smiles, tears and lots of lessons learned have gone by but one thing remains the same: I’m extremely grateful for the people who formed the foundation of my career and the place (FLORIDAJSchool) where it happened. What a joy it was to spend time with the future of our business today. You are all stars and I’m proud to call you fellow gators. Your eagerness, dedication and curiosity is a reminder of how lucky we are to talk about sports for a living. It was an honor to spend some time on the campus that built me.

I did something today that I haven’t done in years. We had some family in town for a funeral so we decided to take them shooting . We blew up an old piano I had bought several years ago that was just in a barn collecting dust. I got the first shot, and after a bit of trial and error, user error basically, I finally hit the target. The video isn’t great but you can see my enjoyment afterwards when I was jumping up and down.

I’ve got 54 years of “life experience”, 30+ years (and counting) married to the same man 🤯 Never divorced Not bitter “Trad wife” since I was 24 years old Why aren’t we posting videos of what we do? Because it’s typically WILDLY mediocre and not exactly riveting Here’s a video my husband caught of me last year, starting the “turndown” service I do on our bed nightly However, there is a lesson here 💡 DO NOT tuck your sheets in so tight that you or your spouse hurt your back trying to turn over in bed I wish hotels and resorts would do the same thing instead of turning the covers into a glorified straight-jacket, but I digress We are also old enough that we don’t document every moment of our lives to put out to the world So, my advice to the younger generations wanting to drink that “kool-aid”… Drink up! You CAN do it It takes sacrifice and no, you may not get to live in a mansion or drive a Range Rover, but you will see your children take their first steps Hear their first words Moments you can’t get back and are PRICELESS ❤️ Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful husband and provider and to all of the other wonderful Dads out there!

Back in the area where I grew up for a couple of exciting days later in the week (more of that to come…) but had the opportunity today to drive around the area to some places I remember from many years ago. I lived in Humberside (as it was called then) from 1973 to 1983 during which time we took regular trips to view the construction of The Humber Bridge which was, when completed, the longest single span suspension bridge in the world. It was amazing to see this incredible structure being built and I still marvel at the size of it today. One of the notable features is the shape of the road deck. It is very similar in design to an aircraft’s wing. The aerofoil section is designed to make the bridge stable during high winds. This design was used following lessons learned from earlier, unsuccessful designs such the Tacoma Narrows bridge. I still find it hard to believe I watched this bridge being built over 50 years ago! I see a lot of people sharing stories so I think I might as well. The first SpaceX launch I watched live was Jason 3 on January 17 2016. The fifth landing attempt and the first one following the first successful RTLS a month before. We didn't get this video until the day after launch. This was the point where I really got interested into spaceflight as a whole. I have highly mixed feelings about the state of the company just over ten years later as they have gone public today but it's been one hell of a ride, that's for sure.
