When Shell turned down the offer to run the three refineries, Dangote came onboard to run it. But UMY cancelled the deal, because the NNPC misled him. Right there & then, Aliko turned his sight to the Dangote Refinery. Obasanjo is the only man that knew what to do.

OBJ may not be a saint, but he's definitely one of Nigeria's best leaders. NNPC has been a criminal enterprise right from the beginning. Kyari and his cohort only amplify the criminality in the sector. APC is a breeding ground for criminality in Sub Saharan Africa.

Imagine 86yrs old obj still speaking coherently but an acclaim 72yrs career crîmînal Tinubu cannot say good morning without reading from teleprompter. I would have preferred obj to still rule Nigeria 100x than this crîmînal drûg Lord being celebrated by mediocre ín his region

The only reason NNPC is still functioning is because of oil. TheFG of Nigeria is very bad in running co-operations and sustaining businesses. Where are the likes of Nigeria Airways, Nigerian shipping line, NITEL, etc.? Corruption is a way of life in Nigeria & no one fckn cares!

I love this man to the core, he gave breath to Anambra after political turmoil of Ngige and Uba family, he gave Obi free hand and support through security to run my dear state.

So Nigeria airways, NNSL, NRC all these corporations were LIQUIDATED by OBJ/ATIKU -PDP. I don't understand what baba is saying he was there for 8 yrs and couldn't make it work. Also legislative quarters was sold by his government instead he chooses to monetize the benefits of senators, that's why till this day Nigeria is running almost the most expensive legislative house in Africa.

Obasanjo laid the foundation for all these corruption in this country. Even the military era was not as corrupt as these civilians. They just want to steal everything. Let him and Atiku explain to Nigerians what happened to aluminium smelter company in AKS.

He was so good then that for 8 good years no single refinery was built. Maybe you may need to refresh on his reason why he increased pump price then.

Never leave important decisions to the tail end of your tenure! If the privatization of the refineries were done say at the beginning of his second term, maybe we will not find ourselves here.

Dangote Refinery is trending because, Aliko Dangote's refinery has started selling Petrol to the public. But, NNPC will be the exclusive buyers. - Monopoly achieved ? The Vice President of Dangote Refinery hinted that should any sabotage arise, and no one buys from them, they will not hesitate to export out of Nigeria, just how they export their diesel and jet fuel. This is was yesterday, when the refinery was yet to reach an agreement with NNPCL. But, now NNPC have reached an agreement with Dangote to supply him crude in Naira. And this month the refinery will supply them 25million litres of fuel, and 30million next month. The refinery is expected to produce 650k barrels per day. But NNPC failed to provide them enough crude oil, which resulted to the delay in commencement of their operation. NNPC being exclusive buyers means that, they will reach an agreement with Dangote prompting them to only purchase PMS from Dangote for an agreed period of time. And, understanding that NNPC is in serious international debt with no international supplier willing to supply them Petrol. - One can arguably say that Dangote has gotten what he wanted, and is on course to secure Oil Monopoly. Recall that in July NNPC accused Dangote of seeking oil monopoly with poor fuel quality. Which frustrated him to to opt out of building a steel plant and suggesting that Dangote Refinery was up for sale. This morning Aliko Dangote used the opportunity to show Nigerians that the real color of quality fuel is "colorless", like water. And he assured Nigerians that, this is what they will be getting from his refinery, unlike the bad product that has been circulating the country for nearly three decades. Assuring Nigerians that their vechicles will last longer, and the environment will be safer. Dangote refinery will be the first refinery to work in Nigeria since 1996. Yet, Nigerians are saying it's not enough. That to properly combat the now natural fuel shortage, FG should allow independent suppliers to give NNPC competition.
