This is how a nation keeps its soul by remembering who carried the cost for everyone else.

My dad was fortunate to go on an Honor Flight before he died. He cried every time he talked about it. He said it was the best thing that happened in his whole life. It made him feel proud and respected. God bless these people!

I had the opportunity to be a part of a Veteran Honor Flight Departure Celebration in Arizona a few months back, when I was on a layover headed to California. We heard special stories about how the daughter and granddaughter of one of the Veterans would be serving as crew members in honor of their Veteran that day. We saw a Veteran, who was 100 years old. We sang our National Anthem. When they left, there were fire trucks out spraying their planes in recognition. It was very special. I’ll always remember it.

@Ginasassyass Airline travel has been a regular feature of my life for 15 years. I’ve had the privilege to be at the gate for so many honor flights. And those are my favorite moments ☺️💕🫡🇺🇸

What makes this even more amazing, is that this probably the first time these Vietnam Vets were welcomed home. When they returned after the Vietnam war, many were spit on and screamed at, so this is exactly what they needed in their lives ❤️

This is how they should have been treated when they came home all those years ago.

My father, a Korean and Vietnam War veteran, was on an Honor Flight a couple of years ago. It was pretty awesome for him!🇺🇸

I was an Honor Flight Guardian for a Korean War Vet. Walking through the reception at the end of the day made me ugly cry!😭 It was soooo heartwarming and the Vets felt much needed and well-deserved appreciation!❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Those were probably Veitman vets, that was probably the only welcome home they got. God bless them.

Just remember, when returning from Nam they were spit on, mocked & shunned when returning. Short hair was a sign of submission to Govt. Now for some reason we're Hero's. IDK...
