He was beat.He knew it.He didn’t want to earn the win on a mistake.People who don’t understand competitive sports won’t get it and say he should have taken the win.He will put his head down feeling better than he would have had he won.He will be be more determined to get better

Honor is a virtue

True sportsmanship …. What a gent 👌

I disagree with this. this is how life works, it’s his problem he lost focus, same this happens in chess you can be losing the whole game but one slip from the opponent gives the opportunity to win, same thing for life in general. The good use of opportunities is a skill as well.

Anyone who has competed in athletic competitions including racing (especially long-distance) knows that the mental aspect is just as important as the physical. He went the wrong way because he did not stay focused throughout the entire race and "earned" 4th place.

Never take what is not yours! He knows 👏

Decent guy, but that mask at the end 🤦♂️

Trump would call this guy a loser.

Spanish triathlete Mentriga is the best athlete that you could barely find in this world. He knew the British athlete was always ahead of him, but made a wrong turn, he waited for him to let him win 3rd place. I will forever admire Mentriga for his gesture & sportsmanship.

True sportsmanship. Good man. 👍

the way ilya stalks behind shane. the way he lets him nerd out before he pounces. the endearment in his eyes the whole time. shane’s little “mmk” when he gives into ilya. the lift on to the counter.
