It’s unfortunate that it’s come to this. It’s not just Canada but other global economic partners that are fast forwarding trade routes and investment’s away from the US. A new administration may slow these actions but not stop them. Trump has changed things in permanent way.

I am a conservative living in Alberta, and these are the traits Mark Carney, Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, possesses, and why I support him: Pragmatic; Realist; Fiscally responsible / Fiscal disciplinarian; Strategic; Deep expertise (especially in finance, central banking, and global economics); Steady / Stable hand; Cautious optimism; Proven competence; Incredible education and experience in the right fields for what Canada needs right now. I am following Pakman and Galloway because the Right is in a deep bromance with the Trumpian “f*** everyone else” attitude, which at times may bring instant gratification — but at what long-term cost? Has no one read Angela Duckworth? Being the good guy in international relations, especially in trade, builds real moral authority. As Mark Carney argued in his Davos speech, middle powers like Canada gain strength when they come together, diversify partnerships, and act with principle. If you consistently play fair and responsible, you earn the credibility to expect — and, if necessary, demand — good relations from the other side. right now, under Carney's leadership, Canada has never been more respected. And, the American government has never been viewed more negatively internationally.
