Pileus cloud: nature’s crown for the most aggressive storms. Formed exclusively over intense updrafts, they flash vivid rainbow hues when sunlight meets droplets of almost the same size - beautiful atmospheric optics.

This is Cloud iridescence. It's an optical phenomenon that happens when tiny water droplets or ice crystals in the cloud diffract sunlight.

We’ve all seen a double rainbow, but have you ever seen the sky do this? 🤔 This rare phenomenon happens when sunlight reflects off the water’s surface and then passes through rain droplets in the air. The reflected sunlight acts like a second sun, producing additional rainbow arcs that cross the primary ones—creating this stunning crisscross effect. It’s pure optics, perfect timing, and the ocean acting like a giant mirror ☀️💧 Nature doesn’t repeat itself often… and when it doesn’t, it really shows off.

🌈☁️ THE CLOUD THAT WORE A RAINBOW CROWN 📍 Tampa Bay Causeway, Florida A rare iridescent glow formed on the edge of this towering storm cloud — created when tiny droplets and ice crystals bend sunlight into a rainbow rim. 🌈✨ It usually lasts only seconds… but this one stayed long enough to make the sky look unreal. Below it, a classic Florida thunderhead kept rising, fed by warm ocean air while the causeway stayed calm and the water stayed dark. For a moment, it didn’t look like weather… it looked like a scene. 🌈☁️✨

RAINBOW “SUN DOG” PHENOMENON OVER ISRAEL A rare “sun dog” lit up skies across Israel today, creating a rainbow-like halo around the Sun 🌈 The atmospheric phenomenon occurs when sunlight refracts through ice crystals in the atmosphere, producing bright, colorful arcs.

No, it’s not a painting—these surreal skies are real! This is a rare ‘fire rainbow’ spotted over the Rocky Mountains, created when sunlight hits ice-crystal clouds at just the right angle. Seeing a fire rainbow requires extreme luck.

☁️ Wow! “Hole-punch clouds” spotted over Pittsburgh Residents of Pennsylvania witnessed a rare atmospheric phenomenon. The unusual circular gaps appeared in the sky after an aircraft passed through a layer of supercooled water droplets. The droplets freeze into ice crystals, which then fall, leaving behind a distinctive round or oval “hole” in the cloud. Nature is full of surprises!

This is the air you breathed in 2024🌍 Tiny dust particles and droplets — 'aerosols' — drift around the globe. They can trigger asthma, cause acid rain, and even alter climate by absorbing and scattering sunlight. The Copernicus EU Sentinel‑5P mission tracks air pollution from space, giving us a clearer picture of the air we breathe.

🚨🇬🇧 Meanwhile in Stroud, Britain BBC labelled this exceptionally rare phenomenon ‘Diamond Dust’ & describe it as Floating Ice Crystals. Seriously have you ever seen or heard of Diamond Dust ever before? BBC think you’re stupid.

We're cold just looking at this video 🥶⁣ This is rime, which forms when tiny, near-freezing water droplets, usually from thick fog and clouds, attach to the surface of a below-freezing object and turn into ice immediately on contact. Rime builds up in the direction of the wind and is more like accumulated freezing dew rather than thick frost.⁣
