Lila Rose recently hosted a panel called “Men Chase, Women Choose: Mastering the Dance of Dating.” Once again, she discussed her own dating history with her husband. I guess the poor guy hasn’t been embarrassed enough already. Lila revealed that she was put off by the fact that he scheduled their first date 5-6 weeks after he asked her out, so much so that she continued to see other men in the interim. The crazy part is that Lila was so impressed with him for being so serious and not just scheduling a coffee date (pick a lane!). Instead, he planned a formal dinner and a trip to the opera. She also noted that Joe did NOT date other women after asking Lila out. For Lila Rose, exclusivity only occurs ONLY when there is kissing, which is a bizarre standard. Conceivably, she could have kept on dating other men after the opera as long as she didn’t kiss Joe. CONCLUSION: It’s very frustrating to see the state of the modern dating scene, even in a Christian context. Women like Lila demand exclusivity and commitment from men while keeping their own options open. I simply don’t believe Lila that she was ultimately the most interested in Joe over these other guys. That might be true in retrospect, but you don’t play the field if you’re head over heels for someone. (All I cut out were clips of the weird dude talking. One Friday, I was bringing Shabbat dinner to Holocaust survivors when I met Edith. Edith is a 98 year old survivor from Austria. She lost every single member of her family. Edith's family made the unimaginable decision to give her away to another family that was able to flee. She told me about the last time she saw her father as he put her on a train and collapsed. She never saw her family again. When she got to the UK, the family that said they would care for her abandoned her. She grew up completely alone. But she figured it out. She wound up having a successful career, finding a great husband, and moving to America. At the end of our conversation, she goes back to work and we make a date to meet for ice cream.

The incident began when an officer pulls 22 year old India Mixon over after running her license plate and finding that her registration/license is suspended. When the officer approaches her vehicle, Mixon immediately becomes defensive, arguing that she just sent out a check to resolve the issue. The officer repeatedly asks to see her driver's license and proof of insurance, explaining that he is conducting a traffic stop and needs to identify her. Mixon refuses to cooperate or hand over her ID, claiming she does not have to produce it, and instead focuses on calling her case manager on her phone. As Mixon continues to refuse to identify herself, the officer warns her that she will be arrested if she does not cooperate. Yuval’s father, in the recording of the phone call which was eventually made public, tells her to play dead, advice that likely saved her life. In her new single, Yuval sings about how everything is “too good,” yet we see how her smile drops away the moment the cameras are off. She sits a a table alone, letting her birthday candles engulf the cake in flames. In the haunting final verse, she asks that an “echo” be added to her words, so they will reach the place where angels celebrate. Yuval lost many friends to Hamas’s October 7th massacre. Her new song, which was almost her choice for Eurovision before she went with “New Day Will Rise,” is a powerful testimony of ongoing trauma. Yuval appeared on the world’s biggest stage and triumphed. Her songs reach so many, yet they can never reach the people she most wants to hear them.
