The magnificent sight of St. George's 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 fluttering across the land is a tangible sign that the English have had enough When the Scots & Welsh fly their flags, it's called "progressive nationalism". When the English do, it's "racist" That era is over For decades, the English have suffered silently as their identity was traduced and undermined whilst other identities were celebrated. I will never forget Ken Livingstone, sometime Mayor of England’s capital city, funding a St. Patrick’s Day parade but refusing funding for a St. George’s Day parade on the grounds it was divisive and xenophobic More recently we’ve seen children wearing British or English flags sent home from school whilst other children were encouraged to celebrate their heritage. And we’ve seen Palestinian and Pakistani flags flown from lamposts for months, with councils doing nothing to remove them. -- Contrast that with the speed with which they've tried to remove the national flag of England. All this sticks in the craw because it offends that most sacred of English values: fair play. It’s just not cricket. Historically, the English wore their patriotism lightly. They knew they had "won first prize in the lottery of life" and thus had no need for overt displays of nationalism. But no more. This has recently been reported by the BBC as a ' deeply contentious debate', as if there is nowhere the people of England can tie themselves to, that we have no land of our own, or that we are not a race or indigenous people. Who are the English? The English are the native ethnic group of England and the largest ethnic group in the United Kingdom. We share a common history, language (English), culture, and identity, developed over 1000s of years. The English are a fusion of Celts, Britons, Anglo-Saxons, with some Romano and Norse influence. Modern genetic studies show the English as a mix: Anglo-Saxon/continental northern European (Angles & Saxons) who dominate the East, Central and Northern regions of England, and the indigenous Briton/Celtic populations (pre-Anglo-Saxon) who dominate the South and West of England. The name England means, 'Land of the Angles'. What is in a name? The etymology of my surname 'Denslow' originates from the words, 'Denu' meaning the valleys of South West England, and 'Sloh' meaning marsh, swamp or bog, so my surname translates to, man from the marshes of the valleys of South West England, and is over 1500 years old. She described “English” not as a nationality or people, but as some kind of feeling or identity that anyone, from anywhere in the world, can simply adopt. This is not a slip of the tongue. This is the active erasure of an entire native people and their identity—on public record, in their own country. The British are being erased.

This is one of my favourite places in the world and it's in the UK, specifically the country of Wales, where I spent many of my formative years. Portmerion was designed and built by an eccentric English architect called Clough Williams-Ellis, it's an Italian inspired village situated on the welsh coast. It became famous as the set used for the popular TV show "The Prisoner" (1967) starring Patrick McGoohan. I just love this place, lots of childhood nostalgia. Also his British accent, man that is a classic Kings English speaking gentleman, a bygone era for sure.

Self-hating white woman, Emily Spurrell, soon-to-be-ex-chairwoman of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners, has said Operation: Raise the Colours is "used to provoke fear or assert dominance", and that it "is not free expression – that is intimidation." Yes, the English should be dominant in their own country. Yes, the English flag is the exclusive property of the English people, and their identity divides them from others. No, we should not deny our history and heritage to accommodate uninvited newcomers who hate us.

Not a single person speaks English there either He says he deals with this every day “Both of these trucks right here, neither of those drivers speak a lick of English — I go to the warehouse here and ask, where do you check in at? But lots of Indians and Pakistanis would say they are a "cricket-loving, tea-drinking family man." That does not make them English. The Indian press celebrated Rishi Sunak’s coup into Number 10 as an “Indian son rises over the empire”. Kemi Badenoch told Gove in an interview last December that she identifies as Yoruba, and that other Nigerians are her “ethnic enemies”. Liking English culture does not make you English, any more than reading about the Edo Period would make me Japanese. "English" is not synonymous with all things good; and excluding people from being considered English because of their ancestry does not imply that they are bad people.
