On the last day of our pilgrimage in the Holy Land, praying with Patriarch Theophilos III and Archbishop Hosam in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was the most profound gift. Jerusalem is the city from which the Gospel first went out into the world, and to which our Lord will one day return. The Churches of this holy city are custodians of a living Christian presence in the very place where the foundations of our faith were laid. My prayer is that, by God’s grace, we may continue to grow together into that unity for which Christ prayed. That we may bear witness together to the hope of the Gospel. And that we may offer to this city, to the Holy Land, and to the world, a foretaste of the peace of God’s coming Kingdom. A little girl brings a Crucifix to a couple who are getting married—a beautiful marriage tradition. When the bride and groom go to the church to be married, they carry a Crucifix with them. The priest blesses the Crucifix, and instead of saying that they have found the ideal partner with whom to share their lives, he exclaims, “You have found your Cross! The False Claim "Fake Dilemma" : Christianity or "Constantinity" Claim that Quran confirmed the Bible, while The Bible is a collection of books written by around 40 different authors, composed over approximately 1,500 years, It's a man made history book mixed between the truth and falsehood, it's not the Torah or Gospel (Muslim's can easily show many of contradictions in bible) There is no book called the ‘Bible’ mentioned in the Quran, but The Quran confirms that some of the People of the Book know the truth but conceal its signs and verses, and this was proved to be true by many scripture scholers that converted to Islam like: Samaw’al ibn Yahya; A former Jewish rabbi who embraced Islam, And His famous book: “Silencing the Jews” The first Bible "Codex Sinaiticus" is a book that was compiled in Greek about five years after the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. A: About the corruption and distortion of the scriptures, Here's the verses : Quran 2:75 Do you covet [the hope, O believers], that they would believe for you while a party of them used to hear the words of Allah and then distort the Torah after they had understood it while they were knowing? Quran 2:79 So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allah," in order to exchange it for a small price. Quran 2:159 Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance after We made it clear for the people in the Scripture - those are cursed by Allah and cursed by those who curse, Quran 2:174 Indeed, they who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price - those consume not into their bellies except the Fire. And Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. And they will have a painful punishment. Quran 4:46 Among the Jews are those who distort words from their [proper] usages and say, "We hear and disobey" and "Hear but be not heard" and "Ra'ina," twisting their tongues and defaming the religion. And if they had said [instead], "We hear and obey" and "Wait for us [to understand]," it would have been better for them and more suitable. But Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few. Quran 5:13 So for their breaking of the covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hard. They distort words from their [proper] usages and have forgotten a portion of that of which they were reminded. And you will still observe deceit among them, except a few of them. But pardon them and overlook [their misdeeds]. Indeed, Allah loves the doers of good. Quran 5:14 And from those who say, "We are Christians" We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they used to do. Quran 6:91 And they did not appraise Allah with true appraisal when they said, "Allah did not reveal to a human being anything." Say, "Who revealed the Scripture that Moses brought as light and guidance to the people? You [Jews] make it into pages, disclosing [some of] it and concealing much. And you were taught that which you knew not - neither you nor your fathers." Say, "Allah [revealed it]." Then leave them in their [empty] discourse, amusing themselves. Quran 7:162 But those who wronged among them changed [the words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them. So We sent upon them a punishment from the sky for the wrong that they were doing. Quran 16:118 And to those who are Jews We have prohibited that which We related to you before. And We did not wrong them [thereby], but they were wronging themselves. Quran 2:101 And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained].

Just remember they are not just coming for the Jews, its every non-Muslim: "Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day, nor comply with what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, nor embrace the religion of truth from among those who were given the Scripture, until they pay the tax, willingly submitting, fully humbled." — Qur'an, 9:29 Khattab translation. Those conquered are given three choices: to convert to Islam; to remain tolerated, second-class citizens, called dhimmis, pay a "protection" tax [jizya], and live according to humiliating rules to remind them of their inferiority, -- such as being allowed to ride a donkey but not a camel or horse. The third choice is to die. It is also helpful to remember that the Qur'an is not made up of "suggestions; Muslims consider it the word of God, similar to the Ten Commandments. One cannot say, "Oh, Allah didn't really mean that." Yes, Allah did... In each of these military engagements, Muslims were the aggressors: they invaded non-Muslim territory and, apart from the Battle of Tours, which they lost, they butchered and enslaved the inhabitants, and appropriated their lands — for no other reason than that they were "infidels" — non-Muslims.

The third choice is to die. It is also helpful to remember that the Qur'an is not made up of "suggestions; Muslims consider it the word of God, similar to the Ten Commandments. One cannot say, "Oh, Allah didn't really mean that." Yes, Allah did... In each of these military engagements, Muslims were the aggressors: they invaded non-Muslim territory and, apart from the Battle of Tours, which they lost, they butchered and enslaved the inhabitants, and appropriated their lands — for no other reason than that they were "infidels" — non-Muslims.

Al-#Shabab terrorists in northern #Kenya used the same method against Christians. They asked Muslims on the #Mandera bus to identify the Christians. However, the Muslims collectively gave their headgear to the Christians to cover them, and then told the terrorists to kill them all, not just the Christians. The pattern remains the same.

Today on our pilgrimage we met with the Nasser family on their farm, now commonly known as the Tent of Nations - located south of Bethlehem in occupied Palestine. The Nasser family are a Palestinian Christian family who have owned this farm for over 100 years. But 35 years ago, the Israeli authorities declared his farm and the surrounding area to be State land. Ever since then, the family have been engaged in a struggle to register and protect their farm. And with each passing year, settlements encroach on more and more of their land. But the Nassars continue their Tent of Nations work with steadfast nonviolence and faith, living their message every day: “We refuse to be enemies.” They are an example of creative, hopeful, Christian resistance to injustice and they need the support of Christians around the world. During my visit today I had the honour of planting an olive tree on the Nasser farm. At a time when many Palestinian Christians are leaving, olive trees are a symbol of their deep roots in this land. As this tree grows, I pray that peace grows too in Palestine and Israel. Please pray for the Nasser family, Palestinian Christians and all those working for a just peace in the Holy Land.

Huckabee, seemingly speaking for all Christians, says "we" look at this as an obligation to serve Jews. Huckabee misrepresents Genesis 12, which depicts a promise from God to Abraham: He will make a nation from him, and those who bless Abraham will be blessed. The modern dispensationalist error contradicts the writings of the early Church, including Paul’s epistles to the Galatians, which state that Christians are those who have received the Promise through Faith in Christ. Paul makes this claim in his writings to the Romans as well, declaring that it is not the adherence to Jewish law that makes one a recipient to Abraham's promise, but Faith in God, which has been revealed, in the New Testament, as Faith in Christ. Huckabee's misrepresentation distorts both the message of the Gospel and the New Testament, which show that the Old Covenant is fulfilled, and that the "Holy Land" and the descendants of Jacob are no greater or of higher importance than the lands of the Gentiles and the peoples that inhabit them, so long as they have Faith in Christ. As the sun sets this evening in Jerusalem – as has happened every Friday evening for the past few decades – Muslims will leave the Old City after late afternoon prayers, and Jews will enter the Old City for their Shabbat evening prayers. The video was taken from Damascus Gate. It’s the entrance to the Muslim quarter of the Old City, and yet people of all faiths feel free to frequent it, to come and go as they please. This is my city – the capital of capitals – a citadel of three different faiths, home to synagogues and mosques and holy shrines. It is the capital of the promised land, a land promised to Ibrahim/Abraham, the forefather of both Muslims and Jews. It is the capital of Israelis and the capital of Palestinians. This little video I took last Friday evening shows something so simple – how normal it is to co-exist. How normal it is to share this sacred city. How normal it is to live together in a land promised to all of us.
