This why it makes no sense when people compare Mahomes first 6 seasons to Brady first 6 seasons. Completely different game.

That game changed the trajectory of officiating in the NFL. Patriots db’s mugged the Colts receivers the entire game.

Hard hits do not equate to better defense. It’s the same myth that old heads say about the 90s NBA. NFL defenses are significantly more sophisticated today than they were in the early 2000s, the hits are barely relevant.

And Jerry Rice still holds every record despite playing in the 80s, 90s and 00s

It's amazing how much the NFL has slipped as a product since this time! The fantasy fueled flag fest we have today is basically a different sport. They 100% had to change for player safety, but the spectacle this league once was is gone, and it's probably never coming back.

Every time you see a defense player’s highlight montage during this period, even the montage being played at the HOF ceremony, most of the plays would now be flags.
