When Toby was reflecting on people asking him how he makes characters, Toby shared his belief that the most important thing to making characters is to make a story with them first. "Purpose and function first, personality, etc, later."

Hilariously ironic. Hong Kong Free Press, the news agency founded by Tom Grundy, which celebrated the riots where numerous civilians were assaulted in the streets, has now declared a zero-tolerance policy on doxxing and harassment directed towards them. This is the same Tom Grundy who doxxed a Canadian vlogger, Toby Gu, and attempted to incite a confrontation against him while Toby was barricaded in his hotel room, fearing for his life due to death threats. Tom Grundy, a popular figure amongst the violent rioters, specifically asked his followers to confront Toby while posting multiple images of Toby to make sure everyone clearly knew who the target was. Toby had traveled to Hong Kong to document alleged police brutality but instead captured, published and discovered footage of rioters attacking civilians, including women, as well as anyone who disagreed with them. That's when he lost favour with propaganda outlets like the Hong Kong Free Press. Tom Grundy criticized Toby for wearing a press vest, yet he never objected to or condemned the many rioters who donned similar vests while assaulting civilians or police officers. Grundy nonsensically declared that Toby "endangered us all" because of using fake press credentials, when press credentials weren't even actually required to do what Toby was doing. The only thing Toby endangered was the biased protest narratives that The Hong Kong Free Press had so carefully crafted. Now, years later, Tom Grundy's news outlet is condemning the very actions they once perpetuated, vowing to report any incidents of harassment or doxxing to the same police force they vilified throughout the entirety of the riots.
