@RussMcCaskey STAY SAFE! I got caught in Katrina in NOLA after Labor Day weekend - took 9 days to get out, and was scary….Hotel locked the doors from looters and crazies! Mattresses against the balcony door/window when the wind gets crazy! Prepare to bail into a stairwell and go UP! 🙏🏼

UPDATE: Hurricane Milton from Fort Myers As of my last video the storm surge has gone up by about 10 inches. They are calling for up to 12 feet of storm surge in Fort Myers. 12 feet here would put water inside of my home. While we are safe, given we have a newer 2 story home that can sustain over 180 MPH winds, I strongly suggest you evacuate if you are in an evacuation zone, have a less secure building structure, and don’t have a secure place that you can avoid such a surge in your home. I’ll keep everyone updated as long as I have an internet connection.

Hurricane Milton Update from my home in Fort Myers. As nighttime creeps in, the storm surge continues to rise. It’s 8 inches higher since my last video and has 4 inches to go before it breaches my sea wall. The water is about 3 feet above normal, and they have been saying the peak surge in Fort Myers will be between 8-12 feet.

JUST IN: Hurricane Humberto has been upgraded to a 145 MPH Category 4 Hurricane, achieving one of the most explosive intensification rates ever observed for a storm in the open Atlantic Ocean. He was a Tropical Storm just 24 hours ago and is now forecast to reach CATEGORY 5 status. This is the first time in 90 years that the first three Hurricanes of the season have all attained Category 4+ strength.
