When watching this in real time I was really hoping Ship 28 would magically cancel out its tumbling and wind up in the perfect orientation for re-entry. That would have been extremely impressive. I hope SpaceX will eventually say whether or not this portion of the Orbital Ballet Show...

Did a quick hack job on this to stabilize the rotation!

SpaceX's web site update states that the reason the second burn was not done was : "Starship did not attempt its planned on-orbit relight of a single Raptor engine due to vehicle roll rates during coast. Results from these demonstrations will come after postflight data review is complete." So it does seem that (at last to that degree), the rolling was not intentional.

We were looking forward to the showdown of the heat shield vs the plasma of reentry but unfortunately SN28 showed up drunk.

I was also hoping… and I guess to such an extent that I found myself somewhat leaning in my chair… to… I don’t know… mentally force into a stable orientation… It didn’t work.🤣

I was really hoping the flaps would take over sooner into reentry but it seems like the atmosphere is still to thin at peak heating for them to do all the work.

They might have lost a few attitude control thrusters for whatever reason. S28 could've made it much further given better attitude control

The Starship now is a fully functional largest ever created rocket 👍 Re-entry is tough. There will be less issues with the booster than with the ship. For the recent re-entry, the ship was perfectly positioned. Everyone saw the plasma (2,600F). If it had been not, the ship would have started to melt. What happened later is the question. It could be either soft (aircraft positioning is actually easier closer to the Earth) - 70% or a hardware damage due overheating (malfunctioned sensors that provided wrong data to the soft, probably the new black boxes near the top) - 20% or structural flaws - 5%. Also, before the disintegration the ship’s position started to fluctuate (nose up/down). These were rather rapid adjustments (not smooth) pointing at soft issues.

Every launch is the step forward to the “unknown” territory They’ve ironed out the launch and hot staging, now is the time for smooth reentry abd, eventually, landing I bet they will need several more launches to achieve this

Do you think SpaceX designed a way to recover the onboard data recorders?

Kylie Jenner says she funded Kylie Cosmetics entirely with her own money from the show and owned 100% of the company Kid Cudi: “Let’s talk about Kylie Cosmetics. Let’s take it back. How did this happen? Where did this idea come from?” Kylie: “It came from 15-year-old me. I was obsessed with makeup. I started creating this fan base, this very personal relationship with these young people, and I would go to the MAC store and I would go to the mall and I would buy all these lip liners that I wanted to overline my lips” “And then I realized my followers started becoming obsessed with what color lipstick I was wearing. And I think that’s when it was, ’cause there really wasn’t something I found out there that was my perfect thing, and a lip liner that matched the lipstick and the lip kit” “And I really wanted to do this and I was always really passionate about makeup. I would be 12 years old on YouTube when YouTube first came out, watching tutorials and wearing a purple eyeshadow in sixth grade. So it just really was super authentic” “I brought my mom the idea, Kris Jenner. She one day drove all around California. We just didn’t know where to start” “So it was hard to figure out how we were going to do this. But we found a factory in Oxnard and I just put up all my own money that I made from the show and I owned 100% of my company and I just went for it. No fear” “And my mom was like, ‘This is either going to be really great or you’re going to have lots of lip kits in the garage’” “I just had so much faith in it. I really believed in it”
