When Water Pressure Meets Engineering! 💦⚙️

any engineer will tell you to shut off water first.

I had to do this last week. This is a temporary patch that usually stays on until the whole pipe is patches. That’s how it is at my place of work.

Flex tape would fix that.

😬 All I see is someone wearing gloves... but no eye protection while working on a liquid jet that could strip flesh from bone and trash an eye in a millisecond. If this is your kind of work, be smarter.

Why not use FLEX-SEAL

We used to weld high pressure steam live. They couldn’t shut it off but they could pulse it. It was a trip. In manholes as well. Full leathers. Two minutes in the hole per man. Ahh to be 16 again…

That’s not a long term engineered solution It’s the equivalent of a sticking plaster🤷♂️

I knew them as Plimco clamps, & when used Subsea on Oil pipe lines, the effect was simular, but if the pipe has degraded to the extent that "fixing a bandage to it" (see above), what can happen is, the transfer of preasure builds on another degraded area, with the same results.🤔

patching things up; making repairs and adjustments

The pipe needs to be replaced there’s to many clamps. The pipe has some corrosion problems.

Classic "cípant", as we call it in Czech. It's obviously from german Ziehband, pulling belt...

Could you not leave it for the back shift as they have an apprentice that knows where the isolating valve is.

This thing needs belzona

Some Belzona would fix this fast

Meh, now freeze seal the pipe, cut that out and do it right.

Why didn't pressure on the gauge increase after stopping the leak?

With NO SAFETY GOOGLES!

Adding a 4th patch (that I can see, might be more) to a rusted old pipe instead of replacing the whole thing. Might as well wrap it with duct tape.

Does anyone see what's happening with the pressure gauge?

แค่ไม่ใส่แว่น Safety ก็ไม่ผ่านแล้ว ถึงทำได้ก็ไม่รอด

كم ثقب في هذه الانابيب، والانابيب المجاورة !!

بالشريط كان افضل

this is a great fix and the way to do it

Bit of gorilla tape would have done that ne bother

You think that's intense? I've worked with live hydraulic systems, bro.

Too slow

jeden bar 😂👍 to mohl zamáčknout prstem

That's a temporary solution.

He was about 5 milimeters from losing a finger multiple times. Water jets can cut through steel.

Just use flex tape 😂

Ý tưởng này thật chuyên nghiệp
