“When we went through her things we found 19 loaded handguns stashed all over her house—under her bed, in her closet, in the silverware drawer… That's the American spirit.”

This irresponsible, dangerous rhetoric will encourage gun extremist to treat firearms like toys and leave unsecured, loaded guns accessible to children. Gun violence is the number one killer of American children, including unintentional shootings with unsecured guns.

Once a day in the US, a child under age 18 accesses a loaded gun and unintentionally shoots themself or someone else. The two age groups most likely to unintentionally shoot themself or others are high schoolers, followed by preschoolers ages five and younger.

REMINDER: There are 400 million guns in the hands of civilians in the US. When you send your kids to friends’ and families’ homes, ask if they own guns and, if so, are they locked, unloaded and separate from ammunition.

Making light of leaving loaded guns littered about a house visited by grandchildren, such dangerously irresponsible behavior, to get cheers and laughs from the crowd, shows how deeply sick America's gun fetish has become.

@LepayMichael That's a sickness within itself.

Paranoia fueled by fear, which is the basis for all negative things.

But he’ll take away her Social Security.

Gun violence is the #1 killer of American children under the age of 17

I just don’t understand why supposed 2A enthusiasts are clapping when they hear that people aren’t properly storing & securing their firearms. What about this says, “well-regulated militia?”.

My grandmother never NEEDED one gun let alone 19. Let that sink in.
