A video went viral on social media during a live stream, in which a top influencer, IShowSpeed, asked if he look like Somali. The response was: “No way, I actually look Somalian.” He added, “If I were Somali, it would be a great twist of my life,” meaning that becoming Somali would be shocking & surprising unexpected change in his life story. My Somali Brothers & Sisters, It’s very good for Somalia, its people & the region if you could peacefully & quickly finish the Somalia-Somaliland issue from its root. This is too old a problem not to bear consequences and dealing only with its consequences will bring more embarrassment to your people, country and the region. The neighboring countries, of course, have an obligation to support you on this matter, not to make fun of it & bragging. Showcasing the country as a failed state & humiliating its leaders on livestream TV show isn’t by any standard a good sign for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of that country.

It is a masterstroke and a resounding slap to the 'Somaliland' secessionist project, as well as a firm response to the recent Israeli recognition that sought to legitimize division. Las Anod, the historic heart of the Sool region, has chosen Somali unity, rejected secessionist occupation, and expelled the Hargeisa administration after bloody battles, establishing the SSC-Khatumo federal state under Mogadishu’s authority. This visit serves as a sovereign declaration in bold: that the territorial integrity of Somalia is a red line and is not subject to division. The arrival of the federal leadership in the heart of Sool province is a de facto field recognition of the victory of the local population's will. Undoubtedly, this visit is a courageous national step that reflects the unity of Somali lands and the state's commitment to direct communication with its citizens in all regions. We visited Prime Minister Nawaf Salam today to express our full support for the decisions of the Lebanese state and the positions of the government, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the National Accord Document – the Taif Agreement – which established the principle that weapons must be exclusively in the hands of the Lebanese state, and affirmed that the decision of war and peace belongs solely to the state and its legitimate institutions. From this perspective, we stressed the need for full commitment to these principles, particularly the decision to ban the security and military activities of Hezbollah, and the necessity of handing over any weapons outside the framework of the state to its legitimate institutions, in order to restore Lebanon’s sovereignty and the authority of the state. However, I made it clear that what is required should not stop at banning activities alone. It must go further, toward dismantling the party’s military, security, and financial wings. Experience has shown that it is practically impossible to separate the so-called political wing from the military wing, because in reality they are two faces of the same structure. Therefore, a real state cannot be built unless all these structures are fully subject to the authority of the Lebanese state. I also stressed the need for the ministers of Hezbollah to resign from the government as long as they continue to violate the decisions of the Council of Ministers of which they are part. Government work cannot function properly under such a contradiction between participating in authority and defying its decisions. I also called for summoning the Iranian ambassador following circulating information about the presence of members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Lebanon, because Lebanon’s sovereignty and the dignity of its state require full clarity on this matter. One of the most important reasons that prompted this visit was also the deep concern for our people and brothers in the south, the southern suburbs, and the Bekaa, who are today being forced to leave their homes because of a war they did not choose and did not want. These are our people and our loved ones, and it is our duty to stand by them in these difficult circumstances. In this context, I affirmed that the Makhzoumi Foundation is at the service of the people. From the very first day it has been present on the ground, working to provide assistance and secure medical supplies, food, water, and mattresses for the displaced. The foundation is also ready to rehabilitate any center that is not currently suitable for housing in order to receive displaced families. Two days ago, I had proposed using Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium as a center to host displaced people, even before the threats that targeted various areas of the southern suburbs. I thank the government for responding to this request. Makhzoumi Foundation is ready to contribute to its full rehabilitation if it is adopted as a shelter for people, and we are also prepared to help equip any other center that needs preparation in order to become suitable for hosting families. I also addressed a matter of utmost importance: the security of Beirut. I called for increasing the number of security forces, intensifying patrols around the clock, organizing the work of centers, and ensuring proper supervision over those who run and manage them. I say it clearly: the security of Beirut is a red line. At the same time, I stressed that the state’s decisions cannot remain mere positions or statements; they must be translated into clear and firm measures that restore the confidence of the Lebanese people in their state and prove that the Lebanese state is capable of exercising its full authority over all its territory. I also firmly rejected the idea of extending the term of Parliament for two years. What kind of authority grants itself two additional years? What I am calling for is only a technical postponement linked to the security situation and the war, for a period of four to six months, which could be extended for a few additional months if the war does not end—not a long political extension that overrides the will of the people and confiscates their right to choose. Lebanon can only be built through a strong, sovereign, and just state that alone holds the authority over the decisions of war, peace, and weapons across all its territory.
