when you plug Mighty into any phone or pc, it shows up as ethernet device with a web-ui built into it. No app to setup or even internet required. This lets me try it out and collect diverse datasets easily on-the-go.

Probably doesn't. This uses usb ncm + webserver to broadcast streams.

Looks like ESP32 — isn’t this constrained to fairly low speeds (USB2)? E.g., can you get 640x480x60Hz?

This is actually rockchip rv1103. I can do 640p@30fps if just streaming raw camera feed (not jpeg) but currently run streaming+my algo at 15fps.

I have tried to host a website on an MCU and have it accessible by USB with an IP. It worked on a PC but android doesn't support reverse tethering without additional apps. Have you tried Mighty with android?

This is android in video. The trick here is that mighty runs dhcp server and android gets assigned an ip.
