When you see this Converse/ Nike ad what do you see?

The two intentional racist marketing ads are @Nike @Converse approved collaboration campaigns released in 2026. The individual creatives, art directors and photographers are conveniently not credited but the campaigns are with: 🛑Converse Korea: The photographer who did the racist KKK silhouette isn’t identified. In the video and picture KARINA is South Korean K-pop singer, rapper, dancer in the skirt, holding the suspended black Converse sneakers, in the large white star. In other Converse Korea campaigns featuring KARINA: The campaign’s detailed credits identify photographer Kim Sun Hye (represented by CHUTZPAH Agency in Korea), GENE agency, Hankyul Oh as creative director, Seoyun Lee as art director, Kim Sun Hye as photographer, and KEEPUSWEIRD as production company. 🛑 Palmes: Tree, ladder and sneakers. Nikolaj Hansson a Danish fashion designer and creative director based in Copenhagen. Palmes has 2–10 employees.

HOLY SHIT And now I can't unsee it. The imagery is too wild to not be intentional 😬

This other ad from @Converse teaming up with Copenhagen-based tennis lifestyle brand Palmes, doubles down on lynching. WTF!!!!

They meant that ad. I’m sure they’ll “apologize” but I’m over these “ whoops” advertisements from companies who know exactly what they’re doing

What I see is “plausible deniability.” My god, my first reaction upon seeing a shoe ad shouldn’t be a whole body shudder of revulsion.

I’d say, respectfully, that term has no meaning in the discussion of racism and whiteness vis a vis Blackness. It’s always intentional, always with purpose, and always undeniable outside of willfully blind white people. 400 years has thoroughly washed that term from acceptance

It leaps off the page, grabs you by the throat, and shakes you until your teeth rattle. Every element was by design. Nike may even claim the intent was to raise awareness of ongoing efforts to document and honor the victims of racial terror lynchings.

I saw the messaging immediately... It's disgusting but not surprising that a white wouldn't understand what this image portrays.
