A “leader” must stand out, risk looking ridiculous, and act in a way that is simple and instructional to attract followers.

The first follower transforms the leader from a "lone nut" to a leader, demonstrating how to follow and shifting focus to the group rather than the individual.

With the second follower, the movement gains validation. As more people join, social proof grows, making it safe and appealing for others to follow.

True movements rely on followers showing others how to join. Leadership is over-glorified; the first follower is the spark that makes a leader and a movement. TikTok, memecoins, whatever. Be the first follower.

@sivers Thats why 0 to 1 in a business is always the hardest and most rewarding. After that 1 to 2 gives more clarity on what you are doing right and wrong, and 2 to 4 and 5 etc further shows its working, but 0 to 1 is so important.
