BREAKING: The 911 call has been released involving the pilot who was forced to eject from the F-35 jet that went missing. In the 911 audio, the pilot could be heard explaining what had happened. He explained that he was flying at 2,000 feet and was forced to eject due to "an aircraft failure." "We need to get rescue rolling, I'm not suer where the airplane is. It would have crash-landed. A factor in the high accident rate was that the Royal Navy carriers were relatively small for the powerful and heavy Scimitar. We can see one of those accidents here, when the arrestor hook broke on landing and the jet fell on the sea. Pilot John Russell drowned.

A case of “get there itis” August 23 2005: TANS Perú Flight 204, a B-737, crashes in Pucallpa (Peru), 40 of 98 aboard die. On approach, the jet impacted swamplands in a CFIT, 3.8 mi from the runway. Report pointed to pilot actions, namely the decision to proceed with the landing attempt in poor weather, stating it was safer to divert. Inquiry noted that the crew failed to follow SOP in adverse weather. What was the role of the British Army in Northern Ireland? One of bravery, of sacrifice and of defending so many in the most difficult of times. What an example this evening as we marked the 55th Anniversary of the murder of Captain David Stewardson, aged 29 of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps by terrorists on the 9th September 1971 Captain Stewardson was a bomb disposal team member and was killed by an IRA terrorist bomb, he was attempting to defuse the bomb when it exploded outside Castlerobin Orange hall. Capt Stewardson had been in Northern Ireland for only 10 days. As Capt. Stewardson tried to cut into the package, the bomb exploded. This type of bomb was a new development and was christened by the bomb disposal teams as a "Castlerobin". Capt Stewardson wasn’t the only bomb disposal solider killed - there were 23 during Operation Banner, all killed trying to protect others. We should always remember their sacrifice, and never allow it to be besmirched.

Pilot sure earned that DFC September 29, 2020: a US Marines KC-130 and an F-35 collide during mid-air refueling over California (US). Fighter crashes, pilot ejects safely, KC-130 crash-lands in a carrot field, all 8 aboard survive. The KC-130 pilot was later awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross - DFC for his outstanding airmanship in the incident – note he was able to crash-land an aircraft missing 3 of 4 propellers, with the remaining one losing about 30% of the blades area.
