AMD (AMD) CTO Mark Papermaster (Mark Papermaster) says the AI industry is underestimating what's coming next.. "People don't even understand how transformational agentic AI is." As AI agents become mainstream, he says the compute stack is also making a big shift: "The ratio of CPU to GPU is becoming like one-to-one." AMD is already using thousands of AI sub-agents to design its next generation of chips, and Papermaster believes we're "just at the early stages" of what's coming next.
