They get their beef patties like every other restaurant from a food service provider. McDonald's uses a couple food service providers. Idiotic question

The main U.S. patty suppliers (primarily Lopez Foods / Lopez Dorada and Keystone Foods, now part of Tyson) operate at industrial scale and were built or expanded specifically around McDonald’s volume.

Beef Cattle live on ranches, not farms, Dairy cattle live on diaries. The beef for 60 million quarter pounders come from feed lots and cutter packers. Some ground beef is imported from south America. Big feed lots are in TX, NE and KS. Buy local to avoid fake meat.

The estimate •~6.48 million burgers/day •A typical McDonald’s patty is about 1.6 oz (0.1 lb) — the size used for McDoubles, Big Macs, etc. •A beef cow yields roughly 500 lb of usable beef after processing The math: •6.48M burgers × 0.1 lb = ~648,000 lb of beef needed per day •648,000 lb ÷ 500 lb per cow ≈ ~1,300 cows per day •Over a year, that’s roughly 475,000 cows For context on real-world figures: in 2023 McDonald’s reported purchasing 714 million pounds of beef , which works out to about 1.96 million pounds of beef every day . That’s roughly 3x higher than my quick estimate above — likely because it accounts for quarter-pound patties (Quarter Pounders use 4oz, not 1.6oz), regional menu variation, and beef used in items beyond the basic burger. Using that more solid 1.96M lb/day figure: 1.96M ÷ 500 lb ≈ ~3,900 cows per day, or roughly 1.4 million cows per year just for McDonald’s beef supply. Worth noting: none of this counts cattle slaughtered per cow — it’s simplified “usable beef yield” math. The real number depends heavily on cut allocation (a cow isn’t 100% ground beef) and varies by country/supplier.

There are approximately 58,115 cattle ranches in the United States, with herd sizes varying widely across operations. Overview of U.S. Cattle Ranches According to 2022 census data, 58,115 ranches in the U.S. maintain herds of 100 head or more, with an average herd size of 195 cows per ranch. Smaller operations with fewer than 100 cows exist as well, contributing to the total number of beef cow operations nationwide. The average herd size across all beef cow operations is 47 head, reflecting a mix of small family farms and larger commercial ranches. Large-Scale Operations Among these, 6,972 ranches have 500 or more cows, collectively holding 6.3 million cattle, which is about 22% of the total U.S. beef cow population. The largest operations, with 1,000–2,499 cows and 2,500 or more cows, have been increasing in number, indicating a trend toward consolidation in the industry. Distribution by State Cattle ranching is concentrated in states with extensive grazing land. Texas and Oklahoma have the highest number of cattle farms, with Texas alone accounting for roughly 13.1% of all U.S. cattle farms. Other major cattle-producing states include Montana, Kansas, and Wyoming, which are known for large-scale ranching operations and significant beef production 📷World Population Review. Trends and Industry Notes The U.S. cattle industry has seen consolidation, with smaller operations declining and larger ranches expanding their herds. This trend reflects economic pressures, technological adoption, and efficiency improvements in modern ranching. Despite these changes, cattle ranching remains a vital part of U.S. agriculture, supporting both local economies and national beef supply chains. In summary, the U.S. has tens of thousands of cattle ranches, ranging from small family farms to massive commercial operations, with the majority of beef cows concentrated in larger herds.

Mc Donalds use less than 2% of the beef world production annually Big number ... but negligible on a global scale Just another easy busted conspiracy theory

Berger meat comes from cull dairy cows. Nothing wrong with them, they are culled because they didn’t get bred back or they have aged out etc

I don't think the burgers are meat of any kind. I don't think meat is on the ingredients list. Remember they tried selling the meatless burgers? I think that was an intro to them all being meatless.
