A week without clear answers about a missing citizen is deeply concerning. If Mulinge Muteti was arrested, the authorities should account for his whereabouts and produce him before a court; if not, they should help establish what happened. That is what constitutional accountability looks like.

Seven human rights defenders have been arrested while holding a press conference at Jevanjee condemning President Ruto’s recent rhetoric concerning foreigners and migrants in Kenya. The comrades arrested include: - Fredrick Odhiambo Onjiro - Julius Kamau - Collins Otieno - Michael Ngige alias Kenyatta - Benard Mita and - Muteti Mulinge. A group of businesswomen is appealing to President Mahama, the Attorney General, and the Inspector-General of Police to intervene after a court dismissed a case in which they alleged they were defrauded of more than GH¢13 million (130 billion old cedis) by a young man who allegedly promised to import goods for them.
