To repel dem without killing many of dem nd to avoid leaving mess in d kitchen, pour a small amount of petrol or kerosene along their path. Dis disrupts their trail nd forces dem to evacuate d area within about 10 minutes. If your goal is to kill dem outright, use diesel instead.
