Story time. During the last song of the show this weekend we put some visuals up of my dog who recently passed. She had been by my side through everything including the last 14 years of my career. I thought I would feel ok when I saw her on screen, but it really caught me off guard and I got super overwhelmed on stage. I started to cry and turned my back to the crowd because it was too much for me. Little did I know that behind me everyone had raised their arms and by the time I turned around again I felt so held up and supported by everyone in the crowd. If you were there I just wanna say thank you. That was a real raw moment for me. RIP Molly

Back in Brecksville living with my brother in a house we both bought, we had an apple tree in the backyard that we were too busy to keep up on. I admit I was pulling long hours at the insurance company and he was gone on developers trips all the time. The fruit and the leaves would fall and sometimes land in the neighbors driveway. For the longest time they never said anything about it, they even picked our apples and ate them, I never said anything about that because to be honest I never cared. One day I was on a phone call with a client and I was walking to the backyard and saw a few half eaten apples and apple cores littering the patio area by my garage. I assumed the neighbor ate it and threw it over. As the days passed I saw more and more apples scattered all over my yard. They even but a big branch of my tree off that was beginning to go over the fence. One day while in the garage I saw firsthand they were throwing apples over the fence. I walked by the fence and saw they were trying to spray something around my tree. The tree is literally right next to the fence, it almost touched it. A few days later the leaves looked burnt and even some of the grass by the tree was dying as well. I suspected they were trying to spray some sort of plant killer to kill my tree. I then walked over to them and asked what was going on, they claimed their daughter was visiting and one of the apples fell and dented her car, and they wanted me to address my fruit falling onto their property. The weird thing about the whole thing is I never heard anything about this nor did they ever ask me to pay for the damages. My friends and I ended up getting a latter and trimming most of the branches close to the fence. I did see them reach over on occasion to steal apples but I never really had an issue with them from that point on. I also never offered to pay for the damage because I wasn’t convinced it even happened, I would think if it did I would have heard about it when it happened.

“Today when I was getting ready to ride one of my horses we heard some animal screaming. I first thought it was our alpacas fighting. My horse was very tense so I decided to go and check it out. The alpacas were all fine but the screaming continued further away in the pasture. So I went to look and found a poor roedeer all tangled in the metalwire fence. She was stuck tightly around her neck and waist and I could not get her free. I had to leave her and run back to our farm to find something to be able to cut the wire with. I ran back to her and was able to free her. Luckily I did not see any major injuries on her and I was able to lift her and let her go on the other side of the fence so she could get back inte the woods. Honest chat- there were many days in medical school that I questioned what I was doing in life. It felt like a big piece was missing but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Even with beautiful mates and a solid job lined up, I felt restless - questioning my purpose and existence. I often felt anxious and lost. I chose to seek more and follow curiosity. Become excited by uncertainty. I didn’t suppress these feelings. It felt like an early life crisis haha. I moved my broke 🍑 to the other side of the world (New York) and dove into something that terrified me as much as it thrilled me- music and writing. My point is, if you feel something calling out to you in the depths of your intuition, let it speak. Don’t be afraid of what your life could become. Be very afraid of not reaching your potential and dying with regrets. I’m still working this out everyday. We are beautiful works in progress.

I’ll add some context to my earlier tweet because I’m still mentally recovering from everything that happened. We were southwest of Kankakee, Illinois and we turned north to go down a dirt road with a bunch of chasers, and once we turned down that road everyone started turning around. I assumed everyone was turning around because of the wall cloud/tornado crossing it, well I was wrong. I couple people turned around and very large hail started hitting the road, so we use a persons driveway to turn around and once we got turned around, a big chunk of hail hit my passenger window (because I’m not the driver), presumably baseball sized hail or larger and nearly shattered the window, but thankfully it was soft enough that it didn’t. We went back east and north on the highway to get another view of the tornado and it goes into full multi-vortex like 30 yards in front of us as hail starts hitting the vehicle, so we turn back around to find a vehicle (I don’t wanna call them out directly) was parked in the middle of the road and was blocking it. That chaser moved and we went south to find more cars on the shoulder on the left side of the road and another car stopped in the southbound lanes and they were panicking and they were blocking us from going south. Thankfully they moved and we were able to get south. Around this time, we start getting text messages that my grandparents who live in Yukon were hearing tornado sirens and we’re getting into shelter. So once we got south of the supercell and were repositioning, I was looking at this while driving and directing my mom because I was trying to figure out what was going on. We were going north on a highway and accidentally missed the road to turn right because my mom didn’t see it and I wasn’t paying attention. So she is forced to make a very sharp right turn on a road that curves, and since we chase in a 13,000 pound Chevy dually 1 ton, we can’t exactly turn on a dime. She tries to turn once and can’t make it so she backs up, she then goes forward again thinking she can make it and she can’t, so she has to back up again. In the midst of this, 3 chasers including Connor Croff were behind us and we were getting honked at. I got told that over stream Connor was bad mouthing us, got mad at us, and said that we almost caused a 3 car pile up simply because we stopped at a stop sign, cleared it, then tried to make a sharp right turn but couldn’t make it all the way, and this made me and my mom very mad once we learned this because we didn’t almost cause a 3 car pile up. If we almost did, they shouldn’t have been driving that close to us and should’ve been giving us space. After this, we continued east and eventually ended up ahead of the supercell as it was producing a wedge tornado. We began driving north towards it and my mom told me there was a semi truck coming up beside us and I asked her to turn our CB Radio on and see if I could get into contact with that driver and get him to stop. In the act of doing all of this, I lost complete situational awareness and ended up putting us in a terrible position. I was able to get into contact with the driver who passed us on the left and managed to get him to stop. Once I got him to stop I looked back at radar to see that we were in the path of the tornado so we turned back south. As we were turning south the tornado was crossing the highway and winds increased significantly. Visibility was bad and we got hit by the tornado. We got hit by a satellite or a vortex on the south side of the tornado and almost blew us off of the road. By losing situational awareness, it got us into a terrible situation, and had we not been in our chase vehicle, Black Betty, that could’ve been a lot worse, but it takes a lot to move this truck, let alone roll it. We’re alright, I’m alright. The truck is alright and didn’t sustain any damage from that tornado, but I’m going to be taking a huge step back and reevaluating the way I chase. Thank god we’re alright.

🐧 did i tell you guys this story? when i was younger, you know the sky bridge kinda thing at the playground, right? we were playing there and my older and younger sister crossed it really easily because they weren’t scared but i’m really scared of heights…i kinda have acrophobia so i said i couldn’t do it because i have a fear of heights 🐧 my mom and dad were there too so my dad said “you’re definitely not going home until you cross this bridge” 🐧 i said that i was really scared and that i couldn’t do it…that it was making me nauseous 🐧 it was at quite a height if you think about it from the pov of someone that’s young 🐧 the arched monkey bars were at a height so you had to climb them on by one but my dad was like “no way, you have to cross this.” so i climbed it one by one while crying and shaking 🐧 thankfully i did go home 🐧 we were there for nearly an hour 🐧 i was raised to be strong 🐧 they got rid of each of the things that used to scare me, one by one 🐧 i actually used to hate bugs but my grandma…🤣🤣🤣 told me to not be scared of them 🐧 i overcame all of it but heights are something i can’t do at all 🐧 how do i put this…that really feels like it’s life-threatening to me 🐧 that’s why i didn’t go on the ferris wheel with the other members in america and only went on the carousel

This was such a fun night out in Paris. Adam and I were so lucky. We’re parents, we have two young kids, but we had a stolen weekend in Paris and got to go to the Valentino Couture show that Pierpaolo had invited us to. I got to go to their beautiful showroom, and this was waiting for me on a hanger. The tights were so beautiful. They were a little hard to stand in, but I didn’t care because I felt fierce. It was just a fantastic night. I think we all wound up on the dance floor, and Pierpaolo came over when we were talking. Then at a certain point he just goes, “I’m so sorry, I can’t be here. mingyu talking about their tiny desk concert video 🖤 🐶 i wasn't able to sleep until 5am earlier, i wanted to post the tiny desk video on my ig right away and i feel proud [of what we did] and i was really nervous as well. we were in washington dc for around 5 days and we rehearsed for that to prepare and then filmed, and it wasn't really easy. we really had nothing - there was no audio coming out from the mic and it was just my raw voice. we didn't have any in-ears, we weren't singing over a backing track either but with a live band so i was pretty nervous. so i was contemplating if i should do it or not but i kind of just went for it at the end. it was a good experience and i just went for it thinking, "when will we ever get to do this?" seeing us, seventeen, on npr is so fascinating in itself and i felt very proud of what we achieved that's why i liked it.
