Culture is not a list of values, literary works, or costumes. Culture is a story that a people tell themselves about themselves in their territory across generations. It is their inheritance, whether they like it or not. If the people disappear, so does the culture. You cannot swap those people out for others and keep their culture, just as you cannot replace the photographs of children on their mother's mantelpiece and claim that the family remains the same.

[The original] King Kong…was stop-motion and done by a person moving a rubber creature. Why shouldn't somebody on a computer using AI software be able to create their own imagery? They should. It's a tool. It's no different from many other tools that have existed over the years. This is how the NC treats the youth of Kashmir, even if he is an MLA. It is their long-used modus operandi to choke the voice they fear.
