I'm a crinkle cut connoisseur, but I respect your logic. Straight cut is a close second, and this brand is the best.

Crinkle cut is the answer. Every HS concession stand I’ve been to this season uses them. It’s our main at the house. Versatile. The crinkles add (slightly) more surface area, which optimizes the crispy/soft ratio. Perfect for chili cheese fries. Good hot or cold.

Smileys don't count. Those are deep fried mashed potatoes, not fries. And tater tots are basically potato croquettes

steak fries and wedges are for greedy people. crinkle cut are for people with no couth.

Excellent top three! I love a good shoestring fry fresh out the grease and at a restaurant they're my favorite but they're not a fry you take to-go they get cold fast. Crinkle cut is good and go great with nacho cheese they hold it well. Straight fried they just good all around.
