While I thought we’d managed to avoid this bill deregulating ivermectin, it was elevated for a floor vote yesterday, shoehorned in with other real public health priorities. I gave the minority report against the bill. It ultimately failed to cross the finish line on Sine Die.

Bill 223 has passed on a voice vote. I was the only person in the public galleries to witness it. Not once did Doug Ford debate Schedule 4 of the Bill, which will shut down supervised consumption sites. People will die.

JUST IN: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) will force the clerk to read the ENTIRE 940 page long One Big Beautiful Bill on the Senate floor which is estimated to take around 12 hours further DELAYING a vote on President Trump’s massive piece of legislation. Last night I voted against Labor’s Under 16 Social Media Ban Bill in the Senate. While I understand the concerns that many have about children and social media, Labor's Bill was rushed through the parliament. This Bill warranted far greater scrutiny and debate. It affects all Australians, yet only 24 hours were afforded for public submissions (which were overwhelmingly negative). I had more to say but, like other members, had little time.
