While I understand why people give caution to avoid certain neighborhoods one of my favorite TikTok follows is this white guy who is always wearing a Sonic The Hedgehog gear who lives in Auburn Gresham, is more or less constantly hanging out in Englewood, and he’s fine.

He’s such a king he got on my bus once and I felt like I was seeing a celebrity

i love his content, always taking public transportation for his adventures even if they’re pretty far

I’ve never seen somebody fully utilize transit the way he does he’ll be in some far flung suburb just on the pace bus he covers ground

When I moved out of Edgewater I ended up on the south side, right off of 79th (I'm in Avalon Park now). It's a great neighborhood and I've never felt unsafe. We're going to walk over to the open house at the Avalon Regal Theater today.

If anyone is going to be safe in Englewood it’s this guy. His level of strange forms a type of protective bubble that shields him from would be predators.

This is great but also let’s not whitewash Englewood. It’s usually very dangerous for people who grow up there The homocide rate is 10x anywhere else in the city. It can be safer for non-Black people b/c there’s a higher apparent risk of them being narcs
