While I was reporting for Article 14 on Facial Recognition Technology used by Delhi police, I found myself on their monitor. Delhi police was caught on camera surveilling a journalist on duty. When I confronted them, this is what they had to say.

They dragged Sonam Sir away while hurling abuse at him. A 60-year-old man, who had been on a hunger strike for 20 days and hadn't eaten a thing was forcibly dragged away by the Delhi Police. We have no idea where they have taken him. VIDEO | Delhi: Police inspector injured in attack near Jantar Mantar while on the way to night duty. Injured Inspector Nand Kishor Singh says, “I had my night duty yesterday. I parked my bike at Hanuman Temple and was walking towards Jantar Mantar. There was a huge crowd everywhere. I was walking towards my office at Jantar Mantar. As I turned from Tolstoy Marg towards the Parliament Street junction, there were around 4,000 to 5,000 people gathered there. They were raising anti-police slogans and slogans against the government. I thought they were students, and I had nothing to do with them. I was simply on my way to perform my duty. In the meantime, around 100 to 150 people attacked me. As I tried to get out of there, they assaulted me with lathis, sticks, stones, and whatever sharp objects they had in their hands. I sustained injuries and somehow managed to escape from the spot…I was in uniform. They were raising anti-police slogans.
