President of #Kenya, William Ruto: “I can tell you without an iota of doubt that the African Union as it is today is.. not fit for purpose. …it’s not fit to provide the leadership that this continent needs to move into the future.” The AU Chairperson, a former foreign minister of tiny dictatorship state of #Djibouti, is dragging the organization in the wrong direction. African leaders are increasingly uneasy with its current approach. He has turned the organization into a situation resembling his own country a slum sewer. Instead of acknowledging the real achievements of African models of democracy and good governance, such as Somaliland’s long-standing stability and functioning institutions, the AU is leaning toward outdated, heavy-handed positions that ignore realities on the ground and instead supporting the stance and the claim of the failed, corrupt, and fragile state models like #Somalia. It condemns Somaliland’s basic right to build its own relations with other countries, which is a mistake and a form of oppression against positive developments on the continent. Ironically, this same oppression reflects the current policy and situation in Djibouti the country of the AU Chairperson. Notably, the #Israeli ambassador to #Somaliland, whose appointment the #AU has recently condemned, previously headed the Israeli embassy in Kenya.

Maponga Marara laments the deeply troubling reality that continues to stifle Africa's intellectual and political emancipation: across the continent, the most translated book remains the Bible, not mathematics, not history, not physics. In response, he issues a powerful call to African governments, to redirect national resources away from the lingering priorities of the colonizer and toward rigorous, homegrown research and translation. To those who protest that recorded history was written by the white man and is therefore irredeemably biased, Marara offers a sharp and unanswerable retort: why can we not write our own? Why must we accept a foreign-authored narrative as the final word on our past, our sciences, and our possibilities? For him, the act of rewriting history is not merely academic: it is an essential act of decolonization, a reclaiming of the African voice and the African story. South African Activist Jacinta Ngobese: "We Cannot Carry the Burden of Every Single Failed African President" South African activist Jacinta Ngobese has delivered a calm but forceful message to African leaders, insisting that her country should not bear the consequences of failed governance elsewhere on the continent. "We cannot carry the burden of every single failed African president," Ngobese said. She argued that communities are not wrong for demanding that the law be implemented. "If genuine asylum seekers need help, the government must provide refugee camps – not dump them in our communities." FIDEL CASTRO IS POLITICALLY AFRICAN Who is Fidel Castro to us Africans? According to some revolutionary Pan-Africanists, Castro (1926-2016) was an African. As Northeastern University professor Layla Brown explained in this video clip, Castro was politically African. That’s because Castro dedicated his life to the struggle for African liberation on the African continent and across the African diaspora. ‘Fidel Castro is a Pan-Africanist of the highest order,’ said Pan-Africanist Kwame Ture (1941-98), who co-founded the All-African People’s Revolutionary Party. ‘Fidel, at some point, mentioned that he felt himself to be a part of Africa,’ said author Alice Walker. ‘It seems to me that he has never really traded on being white. And it’s because he doesn’t have that, you know, ‘white trip,’ that we often in the Third World tend to forget [he’s European]. I mean, I don’t wake up thinking of Fidel as a white person, you know, ever.’ Castro is not the only Latin American revolutionary to be labelled African. ‘Che Guevara is also African and Burkinabé,’ said Burkina Faso’s revolutionary president, Thomas Sankara (1949-87), of Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara, who was born into a European settler family in Argentina. ‘He is Burkinabé because he participates in our struggle.’ The ongoing Cuban revolution is an ontologically African process rooted in African and Afro-Caribbean values, culture and ideas. Cuba’s African characteristics took centre stage so the revolution could triumph, requiring Cuba’s class-conscious elite to sacrifice their status to Africanise their national identity. U.S.-BASED PAN-AFRICANIST VISITS WESTERN SAHARA REVOLUTIONARIES India Pitts, a member of the All-African People's Revolutionary Party (All-African People's Revolutionary Party (A-APRP) on X) and its women’s wing, All-African Women's Revolutionary Union, has sent us exclusive footage showing her experience at the headquarters of the National Union of Sahrawi Women in Tindouf, Algeria. Pitts (India Pitts on X and @indiapitts on IG) travelled from the US state of North Carolina to attend the union’s 50th-anniversary commemoration. Other women came from countries, including Brazil, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mauritania, Spain, Germany and Portugal, to express their solidarity with the Sahrawi women’s struggle for self-determination, against Morocco’s occupation, and for continental unification. The union is the Polisario National Liberation Front’s women’s wing. The front formed in 1973 against Spanish occupation, later fighting Moroccan occupation starting in 1975. As Pitts relays in this video, the Sahrawi people embraced her wholeheartedly from day one. She said the indigenous group is dedicated to the cause of Pan-African unity, embracing and welcoming the African diaspora with open arms. AFROCENTRIC SCHOOLS RULE! At independence, African countries typically inherited a European model of education. But a quiet revolution is unfolding in Kenya. At the centre of this transformation is Children in Freedom School - the country's first place of learning with an Afrocentric approach. Located in Nakuru, the school curriculum is based on African culture, values and languages. Kids study African history, philosophy and indigenous knowledge systems, and are tested in their local languages too. In an age where African languages are often downgraded, and sometimes outright banned in Westernised classrooms, this school is reclaiming what was taken away. We paid a visit, and definitely give them top marks! What do you think?

Why was Haiti 🇭🇹 denied membership status in the African Union but Israel 🇮🇱 is granted honorary observer status at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 🇪🇹? Pan Africanism in its present form is a failed imitation of the one WE published in America and the Caribbean during the time of W.E.B Dubois, Benito Sylvain, Martin Delaney and Henry M. Turner; which was refined in the Early to Mid 20th century in the Caribbean by Marcus Garvey, Jean Price Mars (and other honorable mentions.) Pan Africanism was inspired by the Haitian Revolution, the Seminole Wars, The German Coast Uprising in Louisiana, the Maroon Wars in Jamaica, and various resistance movements throughout the continent itself which later suffered tremendously under the Berlin Conference. Initially, Pan Africanism had at it's core BLACK NATIONALISM/NOIRISME as a fundamental prerequisite of a shared vision; as described by Marcus Garvey, and W.E.B Dubois who inspired such figures as Kwame Nkrumah, Julius Nyrere, Thomas Sankara and others with some collaboration from the Arabs in the North (i.e Gadaffi and Nasser etc) Today it is used as an artificial symbol of control by one of the most hypocritical and toxic administrations in Africa (Ethiopia) who themselves don't believe in its core precepts. (Professor PLO Lumumba of the Anti corruption commission in Kenya) PLO Lumumba had an interesting discussion on this with Marc Lamont Marc Lamont Hill which I will post below. (Regarding Israels presence in the African Union and denial of Haiti.) Were it not for the Diaspora there would be no concept of Pan Africanism as it existed at the time which was derived from the descendants of Black Africans who overcame the trials and tribulations of the West and saw themselves as saviours, like Toussaint and Malcolm X; Who's ethnogenesis as a people mixed of countless different tribes in the diaspora represented an apotheosis of African Nations and a transcendent example that was above petty disputes and more interested in a race based ideology, whos technological innovation and artistic sensibilities incorporated a synthesis of every tribe without compromising the beauty of each. Intellectuals that would later emerge out of the Harlem Renaissance and the Negritude movement would build on these foundations and fortify the concept by establishing strong diplomatic and cultural ties that linked the Caribbean, Francophone African Nations and the United States into a practical nationalist construct. Liberia 🇱🇷 was seen as one of the most significant spaces with potential for building. We can do this today. Just as Dr. Umar Ifatunde says regarding the establishment of new ties and the development of new infrastructure. But why is the African Union in the most ethnically divisive countries on the planet? One that endorses state sponsored terrorism, ethnic cleansing, anti-blackness (as a construct) and the systematic extermination of members of their own community? Senegal 🇸🇳 once petitioned to have the African Union removed from Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and relocated for its own suspicions that Ethiopia had become a haven for tribalism and a neo colonial project trapped in the midst of a cold war dispute between America and Russia. Ghana 🇬🇭 seems to be the most credible undisputed representative of true Pan African ideology today. Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali are making headway. What do you think? Yesterday evening, I received the State Chairmen of our party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), from the 36 States of the Federation and the FCT, at my residence in Abuja. The delegation, led by Kogi State Chairman, Hon. Ogga Temitope Kingsley expressed joy that I am finally a bonafide member of the party. I am glad, too, that I formally registered. I emphasised that there is no time to waste in our rescue mission and encouraged other members and leaders of the coalition to register with the ADC formally. There can be no sitting on the fence. I am indeed pleased to see that leaders of the party at the state level are thinking with the future of our country in mind. Together, we are committed to our resolve to work towards a secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria. The APC is bent on wrecking our country, and we are ready to stop them from doing so. -AA
