The spring at Bath in Somerset, England, delivers 1,170,000 litres a day at 46 degrees, and it has never stopped. Roman engineers drove oak piles into the mud, lined the reservoir with lead, and lined the Great Bath with 45 sheets of it. The plumbing still works. People threw curses into this water. Jensen is right. There will be more software engineers in the future. Not less. The people trying to convince you otherwise fall into three categories: 1. Influencers attention harvesting 2. Academics making a living 3. Politicians looking for votes Common thread is that these people are trying to control you through fear because it benefits them personally. You are complicit if you let them scare you. Don't let them. You should not trust anyone who acts like they have certainty about the future, esp when it comes to complex systems like the global economy. It's simply not possible to have certainty like that.

I am actually disgusted by this. I’ve had so many teachers that changed my life and put me in the right path, without them I don’t want to think about where I would be. These teachers are sharing how much money they have in their accounts on the par day. In a society where our teachers are guiding the minds of the future, the people who will be helping us when we are later in life. I don’t think they are appreciated enough nor is the compensation package up to par. It perplexes me how they they have to spend a crazy amount of money for their education, only to struggle to get by with a smile while still being generous enough to pay for the items our children need without being reimbursed for much of it. I think it’s time we create a change, I don’t think it’s fair we expect so much of them and they give so much to us only to relieve so little. I know people are going to argue with me and say well they chose to do it so if they aren’t happy with the pay, they can get another job. While that’s true, we would be in bad shape however if they ever chose to do that. Who would be teaching our kids and preparing them for the future. I think we focus too much on things that aren’t and shouldn’t be our priority while neglecting and overlooking a major issue right below our noses. Their jobs are important and our kids would fail without them so why are we treating them like they aren’t important? It’s because it’s easy for us to think of them as our babysitters for half the day. We treat them like Nannie’s who only watch our kids while we go to work and do things we enjoy. Maybe it’s time we revisit our roles in helping them achieve our goals.

Jensen Huang just explained why every company cutting engineers over AI is asking the entirely wrong question. Huang: “People say, I don’t need software engineers because apparently coding is going to be automated.” That was the narrative. Here is what Huang actually did. Huang: “I’ve given AIs to every one of my software engineers and hardware engineers and engineers period. 100% of NVIDIA has AI assistants, AI coders, and they’re busier than ever.” Not fewer engineers. Not smaller teams. Busier than ever. That is the line most companies are getting completely wrong right now. They hear “AI can write code” and immediately start cutting headcount. Huang did the opposite. He armed everyone. Huang: “And so the question is, what is the task versus what is the job? No different than a financial analyst; the task is mess around with spreadsheets, but the job is to make financial advice. The job is to help a customer.” Writing code was always the task. It was never the job. The job is architecture. Knowing what to build. Why it matters. How it fits into a system that actually creates value. Code is the execution layer between the idea and the outcome. Nothing more. When you automate that layer, you don’t eliminate the engineer. You eliminate the bottleneck between what they can envision and what they can ship. The companies using AI to cut headcount are optimizing for cost. The companies using AI to multiply output are optimizing for territory. Nvidia chose territory. Every engineer at the most valuable semiconductor company on Earth now operates with an AI assistant. Not a pilot program. Not an experiment. Company-wide. Every function. Every team. And the result is not less work. It is more work. Faster. At a scale that was physically impossible twelve months ago. The companies that understand the difference between eliminating engineers and unleashing them will build what comes next. The ones that don’t will watch their best talent walk out the door to the ones that did.

Satya Nadella says LinkedIn merged four job titles, product manager, designer, front-end engineer and back-end engineer, into one: "I'll give you at LinkedIn, we used to have product managers, we had designers, we had front-end engineers, and then we had back-end engineers and so on." "So what we did is we sort of took those first four roles and combined them. In fact, increased scope and said, they're all full-stack builders." "So at the same time, as you can imagine, if we're to build an AI product today, there's a complete new workflow, right? It starts with evals, right?" "And so evals are done by these full-stack builders and what have you and product managers in the new form, the infrastructure is built by the systems engineers at the back-end because they support the science that supports the product."
