VIDEO: Wike Hosts Suspended Rivers Lawmakers in UK The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, hosted suspended Rivers assembly lawmakers in the United Kingdom on Monday. The minister's Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, in a post on on Tuesday said the lawmakers, who are in the UK for "legislative capacity building”, were hosted to a dinner by the minister. He wrote, "Yesterday, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, hosted Rivers State House of Assembly members who are in the United Kingdom for Legislative Capacity Building, to a dinner. "Wike left Nigeria on Sunday night after visiting his political friends and associates in Port Harcourt, Rivers State." PUNCH Online reported on Sunday that the suspended Rivers lawmakers, led by the Speaker, Martins Amaewhule, departed Nigeria for a tour in the United Kingdom. Amaewhule was said to have declared open the 10th Rivers Assembly Legislative Tour of the United Kingdom on Friday. He claimed that the legislative tour would allow the House to learn new things outside the shores of Nigeria, which would improve the capacity of members for the tasks ahead. Recall that on March 18, President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Odu and members of the state House of Assembly. He also appointed a former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), as sole administrator for an initial period of six months. The development came amid the political crisis in the state stemming from the power struggle between Fubara and his predecessor, Wike. Credit: X| Lere Olayinka

𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎: 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐇𝐚𝐬 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞? 𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐎𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐢 Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has sharply criticized a former Rivers State governor, Dr. Peter Odili, accusing him of self-interest. He also asked between himself and Odili, who has turned Rivers State into his personal estate? Speaking at a thanksgiving service organised by the factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, at the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Oro-Igwe/Eliogbolo Archdeaconry Church of the Holy Spirit, Eliozu Parish, Port Harcourt, on Sunday, Wike, through a statement by his media aide Lere Olayinka, lamented Odili’s alleged habit of prioritizing personal gain over statesmanship. Olayinka quoted Wike as saying that it was unfortunate that somebody who is supposed to be seen as an elder statesman and called a father can reduce himself to a sycophant and a trader. He asked; “Must you be a trader all the time? As governor for eight years, what else are you looking for?” The Minister said; “You know, I didn’t want to say anything. But somebody called me last night and told me what someone said on social media. I said until I read it myself. This morning, I read in the newspapers what our former governor, Sir Dr Peter Odili, said. “What did he say? He said that the present governor has been able to stop one man who wanted to convert Rivers State to his personal estate. He further, pointed to several appointments allegedly dominated by Odili's family members and questioned his past contributions as governor. “Between him and myself, who has turned Rivers State to his personal estate? His wife is a chairman of Governing Council, his daughter is a Commissioner, his other daughter is a Judge, and he is the general overseer. Who has now turned Rivers State to his private estate? I am sure if care is not taken, if there is a chance, he can even arrange a marriage for the governor. “It was his nephew, his late senior brother’s son that was recommended for Commissioner. He took the slot and gave it to his own daughter. Someone who didn’t remember to stand for the son of his late elder brother, is that an elder statesman?” He added, “All of you here remember when I was governor, this same Odili praised me to high heaven. In fact, he said then that all past governors in Rivers State combined did not do better than me. “In 2007, after he left office, he couldn’t come near power in the State because Amaechi was the governor then. He was gone! “Like somebody said that God will use someone to lift up someone. When I came in as governor in 2015, I won’t use the word resurrected, but I brought him back to life. “All of us know about Pamo University. But for us, there wouldn’t have been anything called Pamo University. Rivers State was sponsoring 100 students per session and for every semester, each of the students was paying nothing less than N5m. Then, Rivers people were attacking me up and down. “I personally called Julius Berger to build a mansion for him to live. He was calling everyone to the house then, telling them, come and see what Wike has done for me. Wike has shown me love. He was taking them round the house. “Now, because you have organised a Christmas Carol for the governor, I didn’t say you should not do your Christmas Carol. But why reduce yourself to such a laughing stock? People will still see it on television how he was telling the whole world then how God used me to bring him back to life politically. “Why not do your Christmas Carol, collect what you can collect and leave me alone? Wike also expressed disappointment in Odili's recent comments praising the current Rivers State governor while undermining Wike’s achievements. --- Follow us for more breaking news and videos

VIDEO: Fubara ordered bombing of Rivers Assembly complex, ex-HoS Nwaeke alleges George Nwaeke, the former Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, has accused suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara of orchestrating the bombing of the Rivers State House of Assembly complex in 2023. Nwaeke claimed the attack was a desperate attempt by Fubara to thwart an impending impeachment effort spearheaded by lawmakers aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Nwaeke spoke in a press briefing on Friday, March 28, where he described his firsthand knowledge of the shocking incident. According to Nwaeke, a large sum of money was handed over to Edison Ehie, the former Speaker of the Assembly who later became Fubara’s Chief of Staff, to carry out the bombing of the Assembly complex on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt. Nwaeke's decision to speak out comes shortly after his resignation as Head of Service. Nwaeke said: "First, it all started with the Rivers State House of Assembly, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara directed his Chief of Staff (Edison Ehie) to burn down the Assembly to avert his impeachment. That evening, Edison was in Government House with two other boys, including the former Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, one Chijioke. “I was there with them when a bag of money was handed over to Edison for that operation, though I do not know the amount inside. I want to tell the people of Rivers State today that the House of Assembly Complex on Moscow Road was deliberately brought down by Edison Ehie under the instructions of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. I challenge him to an open confrontation, and I will provide more details. “A day after that incident, I almost resigned but I was very scared because I knew the power of a sitting governor. He knew that I was aware of the whole plan and that I was uncomfortable with the unconscionable act and his deliberate posture of innocence. “Another attempt was also made to destroy the residential quarters of the House of Assembly members. If not for the press conference held there by Rivers youths, Rivers elders, and National Assembly members, that would have been another barbaric demolition in Rivers State. “I realised that they actually wanted to demolish that second building because, weeks later, he personally told me that if he had known earlier, he would have pulled down their hall before targeting the residential quarters of the Assembly. He didn’t realise they had such a beautiful hall where they are now holding their sittings. “I was shocked and asked myself: how could a man who wants to lead his people be destroying state assets and wasting public funds on a needless ego fight?” Source: YouTube | Channels Television ---- Follow us for more breaking news and video content For more stories:

Rotimi Amaechi is fearless. He has my Rivers blood flowing through his veins. The Lion of the Niger Delta; everything Rotimi said is TRUE! Nigerians need men who are fearless, men like Chubike Amaechi. Tinubu is a nobody, & he should be ashamed of himself. As the governor of my state, Rotimi fought crime to a standstill. All the crime lords in Rivers State ran away. He calmed the waters for “Mile 4 Hitler” to come in & become an overlord. Rotimi Amaechi dealt with the notorious kingpin called “Dogo.” Back then, you dare not buy land in Eneka Port Harcourt, because Dogo & his boys were land grabbers. They had a shrine right inside the bush in Eneka. My brother in the army would send his boys to secure our farms at Eneka. Dogo was always grabbing lands. Hindsight, I regret the support my family gave to Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. I was in his corner, until I wasn’t All my family stood by Wike when he was almost rigged out by INEC. Back then, Amaechi had the federal might, with Akin Fakorede (Rivers Commander F-SARS) in his corner. Dad was always against injustice. We always moved to the camp of the underdog. My entire family were in Wike’s corner, just like we were in Rotimi’s corner when he faced federal might. Amaechi is central to the ADC, he is no coward. You need a man that will look Bola Tinubu in the eye, & say those uncomfortable truth that needs to be said. He has big role to play in your coalition. Use him in your counter formation!

These are the facts. Yesterday, he explicitly stated that declaring a state of emergency doesn’t remove the governor. Today, he’s claiming that the president is in a precarious situation. Watch the entire video until the end. He said expressly no be can declare state of emergency in Nigeria and remove the governor but Pres.Tinubu did, so why can’t he say Expressly President Tinubu was wrong. He stated boldly no body can declare state of emergency in Nigeria and remove the governor he said if anyone tried it they will fail. So when Tinubu tried it 2 hours why didn’t he say Tinubu is operating an illegal law! He then said the president was pushed to declare state of emergency? Based on his argument yesterday why didn’t he say the president has no powers to declare state of emergency and suspend the governor He then pushes the argument to the National Assembly to decide which is a grand pivot mechanism. I have been in this business for 20 years so I know a pivot. The same 1961 law that he claimed didn’t exist ( he called it an antiquated law/ an illegal law)yesterday is now the same law he claims some lawyers informed him is still active. Before I intervened today, I watched the video multiple times and noticed that the speaker had pivoted. If he adheres to the constitution he quoted the previous day, why can’t he explicitly condemn President Tinubu in the same manner as he condemned Obasanjo in his previous intervention? It’s evident that he’s playing a strategic game. All the other things he said were to prolong the situation and ultimately support President Tinubu while citing the opinions of some lawyers, the same law he discarded the previous day. I’ve shared the entire video for accountability. We’re also aware of other events that transpired yesterday.
