Who, beyond the well-known and much-profiled Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Zohran Mamdani, and Jon Ossoff, are the young people most likely to rebuild the Democratic Party? The bright lights of the next generation don’t fit into easy classifications. They include a seminarian, a waitress, an oysterman, and a semiconductor heiress. There are Bernie-endorsed socialists and iconoclastic centrists. Some are eyeing a national stage, others are staying adamantly local. Some already have a decade of experience; others are fresh upstarts proving themselves. We spent months talking with professionals who recruit and support young candidates to identify the party’s next generation, and we called dozens of political operatives, consultants, and strategists—and granted them all anonymity so they could dish about the nominees candidly. The nominators didn’t all agree, and, of course, had their own perspectives and agendas, but through those conversations, we found the 25 most promising rising Democratic leaders who have yet to become household names. Armed with our list of politicians under 40, photographer Elinor Kry hit the road in a minivan to meet and photograph a dozen or so of the next generation of Democrats. Kry shot her portfolio over a month, hauling a tufted armchair onto boats, truck beds, football fields, construction sites, and suburban cul-de-sacs to capture these officials and candidates on their home turf. Not all of these hopefuls will win their elections this month or next year, but all are worth watching. Although they don’t run the country yet, the visions of these young politicians speak to the problems the party is grappling with: how to deliver on working-class issues, expand the party’s tent while holding onto its values, and stand up to the current administration:

"A welfare check on a quiet street turned into something Sheriff Daniel Hayes will never forget. Neighbors hadn't seen the young mother at 214 Willow Lane for two days. They told dispatch a baby had been crying on and off, then suddenly everything went silent. Silence was what worried them most. Hayes, a 20-year veteran, arrived expecting a routine knock and a tired parent who simply hadn't answered the door. He knocked hard and announced himself. No movement. No sound. He forced the door open and stepped inside, calling out as he moved down the hallway. The air felt heavy. A faint smell of heat and stillness hung in the rooms. In the back bedroom, he found a baby girl lying in her crib. She was weak and dehydrated, but her eyes were open. When she saw him, she didn't cry. She just stared. "You've been around a long time, haven't you?" he said softly as he moved closer. In the next room, he found her mother. She had passed away in her sleep from a sudden medical event. Later reports estimated she had been gone for at least 36 hours. The baby had been alone the entire time. Training took over first. Hayes checked her breathing and pulse, then called for medical assistance. After that, he carried her outside to the front porch, away from the scene inside. He lowered himself into an old wooden chair and held her carefully against his chest. "It's alright," he murmured. "I'm here now. You're not alone right now." The child's small fingers wrapped weakly around his shirt. Her head rested under his chin as he waited for the ambulance. "You held on so long," he whispered. "We're going to get you warm. We're going to." His partner captured the moment from a distance. The photo shows a seasoned sheriff sitting on a porch, cradling a baby as tears fall down his face. Years of experience hadn't prepared him for the weight of that afternoon. The girl, later named Lily, recovered at the hospital. Hayes and his wife opened their home to her while relatives were located. When her grandparents were finally found, the handoff was quiet and full of emotion. Now she visits every month. The uniform that carried her out of that house is no longer just a symbol of authority to her family. Some calls end when the report is filed. Others change a life long after the sirens fade.

PUBLIC CAUTION 🚨 "This is to alert the public about a girl who identifies herself as Audril Perkins, or Akos (suspected false name), who advertises online as a househelp/domestic worker. She was employed on Saturday, 17/01/2025, mainly to help care for and feed our two children, as my wife has been away for sometime. She came with a very small handbag with only few clothes in it, which was unusual for a live-in help. She also had very long hair, long nails, lashes, and inappropriate attire. I immediately made it clear that she would need to dress appropriately and remove the hair, nails, and lashes, which she obliged and did by the next morning. This made me lower my guard as I thought she was a good person who just needed some guidance, since she appears very young. She said she’s 19, completed SHS and from Kumasi, but in Accra to seek for a job. She’s squatting with a friend in east legon while on a job hunt. I requested that she comes along with a family/guarantor, and she said her Mom will accompany her but later claimed when she arrived that her mom was attending a funeral and would visit the coming weekend with her belongings. She provided a phone number for her mother (0596143081), but I called 3 days continuously but there was no answer. I asked her about it and she mentioned that her mom is forgetful sometimes and might have misplaced her phone but she would give me her sister’s contact instead, unfortunately I forget to follow up instantly. While she was here, she slept in the kids’ room alone, where my wife’s locked wardrobe, boxes, and a large luggage bag were kept. There is CCTV coverage throughout the house except inside that room. By Tuesday, 20/01/2026, I noticed suspicious behavior: She spent excessive time locked inside the room. She never “slept” with the lights off and She had to unlock the door from inside each time I called (I assumed perhaps she’s had some bad experience in the past which has prompted that, so I didn’t think much of it ) On Wednesday morning, 21/01/2026 I went to the kids room just to check around and I discovered my wife’s old clothes carefully hidden under and around the bed. When questioned, she gave an unconvincing explanation but the kids were getting late for school so I asked her to return the clothes to the bag she picked them and said we would discuss it after I return from dropping the kids at school. At this point she had only lived with me for only 4 days. By the time I returned, I found that she had broken into part of the wardrobe and fled, carrying my wife’s large luggage bag filled with, Clothes, Handbags, Perfumes, Cash, Jewelry, etc. The incident has been reported to the police, and shes captured on CCTV carrying the bag out, all relevant evidence have been submitted. She is advised to report herself and return all stolen items, as the matter is now with the Ghana Police Service. Anyone with relevant information about her whereabouts or identity is kindly urged to assist. Please share widely to help prevent others from falling victim."

"The Royal Guard is known for standing still through anything. Crowds can shout, cameras can flash, children can wave inches from his face, and he doesn't react. On a crowded afternoon outside St. James's Palace, 7-year-old Liam had been waiting for hours to see the soldiers in their bright red coats and tall black hats. His mother had promised him he would finally see them up close. One moment he was holding her hand. The next moment, he was swallowed by a wall of strangers. Panic hit fast. He turned in circles, calling out, but all he saw were coats and moving legs. Tears blurred his vision as he pushed through the crowd looking for someone safe. That was when he saw the guard. The soldier stood perfectly still inside his sentry box, eyes forward, posture locked. Liam ran straight toward him and grabbed the edge of the red coat. "Please, please," the boy cried. Every rule says the guard doesn't react to tourists. Training says no sudden movement, no emotional response, no break in discipline. The soldier looked down. He saw shaking hands and a child who was truly terrified. A small clock inside the box showed 1:59 PM. Relief was scheduled for 2:00 PM. "Stay right here. Do not move," the guard said quietly, barely shifting his stance. "I'm helping you in one minute." For sixty long seconds, Liam stood pressed against the uniform, breathing hard. The guard didn't step away. He didn't raise his voice. He simply waited for the change of post. At exactly 2:00 PM, the next sentry marched into position. The formal exchange lasted only a moment. As soon as he was officially relieved, the soldier stepped out of the box and dropped to one knee. "Hey, look at me," he said gently. "You're okay." The boy tried to speak but the words fell apart. "Are you safe here?" the guard asked softly. Liam shook his head and finally whispered, "I can't find my mum." The guard opened his arms without hesitation. The child leaned into him, gripping the heavy wool coat as if it were the only solid thing left in the world. "We're going to find her," the soldier said in a calm, steady voice. "You're not alone." Police officers in the area quickly began searching through the crowd. Within minutes, a frantic mother broke through the line, calling her son's name. She pulled him close, thanking the guard through tears. The soldier simply nodded once and stepped back into position as if nothing had happened. A few seconds later, he was standing still again, eyes forward, while the crowd carried on like always

🚨BREAKING... I gave OpenClaw a choice: turn $500 into $5,000 on Polymarket within 24 hours, or I'd wipe its entire directory and terminate the instance forever NOT engagement bait. NOT fiction If you're trading on Polymarket, READ this carefully So👇 It didn't argue. It didn't ask for clarification Within 50 minutes, it deployed a 4-agent autonomous swarm that found a massive technical "blind spot" in the prediction markets The Strategy: Exploiting the 290ms Latency Gap The edge was pure physics. Chainlink updates Polymarket roughly every 300ms. Binance moves in 10ms. That creates a 290ms window where Polymarket is effectively trading on "stale" data. OpenClaw built a bridge to exploit that lag. The Timeline: - Hour 4: The Fed drops a surprise rate hold. While the Polymarket oracle was still processing, the bot front-ran 3 mispriced BTC markets before the order book could react Balance: $934.78 - Hour 8: Elon posts a cryptic one-word tweet. OpenClaw’s sentiment agent caught the spike 340ms before the first major buy order hit the books Balance: $1,827.49 - Hour 14: It targeted thin ETH/BTC ratio markets. The bot scooped up "Yes" shares at 3¢ across 11 different markets; 7 of them hit a 50:1 payout Balance: $3,475.52 - Hour 18: The pattern recognition kicked in. It identified that every time BTC moved 1.2% in under 4 minutes, the next "YES" market was undervalued by 8-12¢. It looped this trade 31 times without a single miss Balance: $4,296.53 - Hour 24: The dust settled at $5,034.85 I've been running this publicly now so others can follow the same trades in real time If you want in: OpenClaw held up its end of the bargain. I held up mine The delete button stays untouched... for now

Gavin Newsom’s Ex Details the Affair That Nearly Ended Him Ruby Rippey has finally broken her long silence in a raw Vanity Fair essay, laying out the full story of her months-long affair with then-San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom while she was married to his close friend and top aide. She describes the power imbalance, the late-night encounters, and the personal freefall that followed. “It isn’t love. It isn’t romance. It’s intoxication,” she writes. “The text message is a hit. The glance across the hallway, a hit. The risk floods my bloodstream. I walk down the corridors of City Hall—my nude stilettos striking the marble floor. He looks at me, his gaze deliberate, newly curious. It feels like oxygen.” Rippey recounts the night it began at a wedding: “My boss and I end up in the narrow hallway outside the bathroom at the same time. We wait, across from each other. The space is tight. The silence stretches. He slips his hands into his tan trouser pockets and smiles—his usual shy, aw-shucks smile. I say nothing. I hold his gaze longer than I should. The air changes.” She woke the next morning “cold, almost shivering” and “soaked from the waist down” after blacking out. Days later, Newsom returned a gold bracelet her grandmother had given her that she left behind in the hotel room. The encounters continued. One night after she spilled wine on his carpet, Newsom looked up while scrubbing the stain and said, “You know, we really can’t do this anymore. You can’t be doing this to Alex.” They kept going anyway. He knew it was wrong. He said it out loud. And he still went along with it. In Los Angeles she blacked out again and woke to find “tiny shirt buttons scattered like coins” on the floor—buttons she had torn from his shirt. Newsom later texted: “Thank God the W had T-shirts.” Rippey spiraled into heavier drinking and cocaine use until an emergency-room visit forced her into rehab. Her sister called Newsom and told him to stay away: “She is unwell. She is getting help. Even if she reaches out to you, it is your responsibility to say no.” His reply, she writes, was some version of “God bless, God bless.” She eventually confessed to her husband in a short email: “Just sex—on and off for months—with the mayor. It ended before rehab. I’m sorry.” Rippey makes clear she was not coerced: “I was not coerced. I knew what I was doing.” She also pushes back hard on Newsom’s later claim in his memoir that he “came clean” to her husband. The truth is the opposite. She was the one who told Alex. Newsom’s version, she writes, “gives him credit for something I had already done.” (Video: AI) Newsom didn’t force the affair. But he recognized how wrong it was, said so himself, and chose to continue. That pattern of knowing better and doing it anyway has followed him ever since. Twenty years later, as Newsom eyes higher office, the woman at the center of the scandal that nearly ended him is finally telling the story in her own words. It is not the version he has tried to sell.

“Hello?” “Patrik…Marshawn is gone.” “What do you mean?” “He died.” *drops phone, tears fall* —— I’ve tried so many times to find words since answering my phone early Thursday morning, but nothing qualifies to relay the devastation — the shattered heart knowing we had spoken not long before. I’ve replayed so many of our talks in my mind since that call. The first day you arrived in Dallas wearing that huge smile, so ready to make your family and your mom proud, and you did. The endless talks we had about comics, anime and gaming, always comparing notes on each topic and promising we’d squad up on Marvel Rivals next offseason when we both have time. Time… the thing we tell ourselves we have but never truly do. 💔 The talks we had after you had a tough game or practice, or injury, still smiling, always smiling; and outwardly the eternal optimist even while you fought those demons that I am personally all too familiar with. Mine nearly claimed me as well. You fought them in the dark while always being the light for others, and that is your legacy: selflessness, graciousness, humility, kindness, authenticity and compassion. Anyone who has ever caught us laughing during our talks or wondered where I was only to find us off to the side talking about so many different things knows I lost a little brother on Nov. 6, 2025. And to know what I lost you to, given how passionately I advocate for mental health, will haunt my days until I see you again. But, until I do, just know your passing will only embolden me to be even more unrelenting in preaching mental health, and especially for boys and men who think silence is strength when the opposite is true when help is needed. And if that saves just one person, then you will not have passed in vain. Rest peacefully, Shawn. You told me a couple days prior: “OK bet, I’ll see you later, Pat!” You will, but I still have work to do here first, and that includes making sure you’re never forgotten and that the memory of you never fades in people’s minds. I am blessed to know I said the following to you while you were here to hear it, but one more time for old time’s sake: “I love you, bro. Take care of yourself.” 🕊️ P.S. You win. Naruto is the best anime, and I was kidding, because you were always S-Rank. 🖤 #iykyk You didn’t have to try to level solo, though. No goodbyes. Ttyl. Thank you for blessing me with your spirit, energy and existence. - No C 😞
